“Light My Body Up” – the first single off David Guetta’s forthcoming seventh studio album – receives a star-studded music video highlighting the globally renowned DJ and the track’s featured artists Nicki Minaj & Lil Wayne. The Benny Boom-directed video showcases a sultry queen Nicki “lighting” Guetta up with the blessings of her fingertips, plus a cameo from Lil Wayne and his signature double cup. Lauded by Billboard as “sultry,” by SPIN as “a showcase of high fashion,” and bearing “striking visuals” by VIBE, the video has amassed over 1.6 million views in just four days.

The same day, the track got another irresistible remix courtesy of fellow French dance star Cedric Gervais, following a storming house reworking courtesy of Tujamo. On the Gervais remix, listeners are dropped straight into bright, breezy piano chords and Minaj’s gorgeous vocals as a simple beat springs into life. A soaring bridge gets complimented by tribal percussive fills and thick layers of pads and bass, followed by a drop to introduce the turbocharged chorus featuring distorted gnarly synths and thumping bass and kicks. Futuristic, dark, and stripped-back, it provides a clinical contrast to the euphoria of the song that’s at the heart of the track. This huge remix comes off the back of Gervais’ current single “Touch the Sky” which is currently riding high in playlists across Spotify and Apple Music.

Of course it’s not the first time that Cedric Gervais and David Guetta have been featured on the same track together. Their massive collaboration “Would I Lie To You?” with Chris Willis last year proved to be one of 2016’s biggest house tracks, and showed that their skills and tastes were very well-aligned. Gervais has produced a slew of high profile remixes in recent years, including for Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and most notably Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness,” for which he received a GRAMMY Award for Best Remixed Recording. Expect more to come from this powerhouse combo!
