Hello bridge friends,

A warm welcome to all to Panama, host of the 27thCentral American and Caribbean Zonal Championships.

Thank you to the President of the World BridgeFederation, Mr. Gianariggo Rona, for his gracious presence. I would also like to thank the board of theCACBF for accepting the candidacy of Panama to organizethis event, after more than 10 years of absence frominternational competition.24 months have now passed, they seem to have flown, andfinally we are here all together in this beautiful city toshare some incredible and emotional moments.

We have put a lot of effort into making sure that you feelcomfortable and happy.I thank our patrons who believed in us. This has meant that for the first time in the history of Panamanianbridge, the print and televisión media will be covering a bridge tournament.

I wish to make special mention of the several world class players who have come to participate and to whomwe send brotherly greetings. I close now, certain that we are all going to celebrate a spectacular tournament.

9:00 am: City Tour with visit to the Panama Canal, around the perifery of the Historic City Center, visit to the Causeway and fellowship lunch at Diablicos with a view of the Bahia de Panama.

3:30 pm: 1st classifcation session of the open pairs championship in the Diamante Salon in the basement floor of the hotel.
