Bidgely Gateway Start Up Guide Activating your Home and Business Area Network (HAN) Device. Step 1 Make sure you have the requisite software and hardware. 1) A free Ethernet port on a router directly connected to the Internet. 2) A PC or other device with a web browser. Step 2 Power up your HAN Device. 1) Plug the Ethernet cable into a port on your router, and the other end into the Ethernet port on your device. 2) Plug the AC adapter into a nearby wall outlet, and plug the other end into the power socket on your device. Bidgely Gateway Start Up Guide Activating your Home and Business Area Network (HAN) Device.

Step 1 Make sure you have the requisite software and hardware.

1) A free Ethernet port on a router directly connected to the Internet. 2) A PC or other device with a web browser.

Step 2 Power up your HAN Device.

1) Plug the Ethernet cable into a port on your router, and the other end into the Ethernet port on your device.

2) Plug the AC adapter into a nearby wall outlet, and plug the other end into the power socket on your device.

3) Allow two minutes for the device to boot up. You should see that 2 of the 4 status LED lights (power and Ethernet) are on continuously. This indicates that the unit is functioning normally.

Step 3 Log into your PG&E My Energy account @ pge.com/myenergy.

Step 4 On the bottom of the Overview page, select Home And Business Area Network.

Step 5 On the HAN Dashboard, choose the account and address where you’d like your HAN device to be linked. Click Register Your Device.

Step 6 A Device Registration page will appear. Please complete all required fields.

Step 7 On the Device Confirmation page, please review all information to make sure it’s correct. If there’s an error, select Previous to return to the Device Registration page and make the appropriate edits. Once you’ve confirmed that all your information is correct, select Submit.

NOTE: The MAC Address/EUI and Install Code are sequences of numbers and letters unique to each device. They’re usually found on the device packaging or labeling, but may also be in the device menu options. When entering your address/code, please check carefully for numbers and letters that look similar, such as zero and O, and enter them correctly.

NOTE: Incorrect MAC Address/EUI and Install Codes cannot be changed once submitted. Please double-check to make sure they’re entered correctly.

Step 8 Your new HAN device is now registered! Next, click the Join Device button to join your HAN device to the SmartMeter.

NOTE: You may join the HAN device to the SmartMeter later by clicking the Join button on the HAN Dashboard.

Step 9 On the Configuring Meter: Start Countdown page, click the Start button.

If you see the Join Device: Start Countdown page (Step 10), click the Start button.

Before the counter reaches 0:00, the meter should be configured. This can take up to four tries. Once the meter has been configured, you’ll see a Configuring Meter: Success page. Click the Join Device button.

Before the counter reaches 0:00, your HAN Device should join to the meter. This can take up to four tries. If it doesn’t connect, troubleshooting steps will appear on the screen.

Step 11 View your Electric Usage.

You can choose either Bidgely or EnergyVue to see your electric usage. Follow the instructions below for the one you choose.

1) Using Bidgely Go to bidgely.com/pge2014 Create an account and follow the instructions to see your usage.

2) Using EnergyVue You should now be able to connect to your device using a web browser. The computer running the web browser must be connected to the same router or network as the device and the computer must also be running

multicast Domain Name System (mDNS), which is known as Bonjour on Apple computers. mDNS may be already installed on your computer, as many printers and Apple’s iTunes use this protocol. If you need to manually install mDNS on your Windows PC, you can find instructions at: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL999

Type the local web address of your device (found on the Information Label) into the URL field of your web browser and connect. When your web browser connects to the device you should see the EnergyVue “Usage” page. Information from the SmartMeter should now be displayed.
