Celebrating surfi ng with high quality, durable and affordable surfboards.

Since 1992 BIC Surfboards have celebrated the surfi ng experience by making it accessible through their selection of high quality, durable and affordable surfboards. Our goal is to share the thrill of surfi ng by providing outstanding surfboards that perform in a wide range of conditions for a broad spectrum of surfers.

“Honour the Past, Invent the Future”. The past 15 years have seen BIC Surf develop boards that suit all surfers – from the seasoned professional who demands rigorous perfection, through to the complete beginner who requires stability and ease of paddling. Today BIC is the largest producer of surfboards under one brand.

As we continue to develop and create our range, we are determined to always keep YOU, the surfer in mind.

Each BIC Surfboard design arises from a prototype created by one of our highly experienced and talented shapers. While inspiration for a new model may strike a shaper in a moment, our rigorous adherence to quality means that there are many months of testing before the fi nal, perfect shape is determined. Our crew of surfers may trial sample models for months through this critical testing phase, constantly providing the design team with feedback, before the agreement on the fi nal shape is achieved.

Ensuring that our boards will perform as intended is one of the reasons why they have achieved a global reputation.

5’10’’ Fish Dynamic performance! The versatile Pocket Rocket is renowned as the ideal fi rst surfboard for grommets as much as it regarded as an excellent small-wave board for accomplished surfers of approximately 45-70kg. Truly refl ecting its name, the Pocket Rocket is a dynamo that offers the stability and buoyancy of a longboard with the manoeuvrability of a shortboard packing a lot of volume into its short length. The secret is its short, fat design that incorporates a wide nose and tail, allowing the Pocket Rocket to catch waves early for a board of its size. While suitable for small children just starting out, it nonetheless packs a punch when ridden by a more experienced surfer.

6’7’’ Shortboard Up your surfi ng performance with the 6’7’’ Shortboard! Looking for a board that will accelerate through cut-backs, off-the-lip and mid-face manoeuvres? You’ll be stoked with the new heights that this performance driven, durable, shortboard will take you. Intermediate surfers agree it’s the perfect fi rst shortboard, advanced surfers will fi nd this a reliable board across a wide range of wave sizes and conditions. Smaller kids will love the 6’7” as it offers plenty of board to get them going as its standard shortboard dimensions have been slightly increased to cater to more of a beginner/intermediate market.

7’3’’ Mini Malibu No wonder this is the world’s single best selling surfboard! The Mini-Malibu (or Wahine model for girls) is the perfect all rounder. A fabulous entry-level board for new surfers, it features a refi ned combination of stability for ease of paddling and enough performance to make it a fun board for the more advanced surfer. Versatile and a joy to ride, the Mini-Malibu / Wahine surfboard will take you from your fi rst ever surfi ng experience through to gliding down the unbroken wave face or ripping up the lip! Durable enough to survive learn-to-surf wipeouts that leave other boards on the beach, this low-cost board will bring you hours of fun on a great range of wave conditions.

7’9’’ Natural Surf 2 An updated design of an old favourite!Perhaps the most versatile of the ACS range, The Easy Rider is everything its names promises - an excellent combination of longboard stability and manoeuvrability, with just enough length to make it easy to control. Its user-friendly design provides ample fl oatation to catch all types of waves while the performance shape enables ‘down-the-line’ fun for fi rst timers to advanced surfers. The Natural Surf 2 gives lightweights and smaller surfers an easy to carry, durable and stable “big-board” feel for starting out. However, heavier or bigger surfers will enjoy the mid-range length and proven performance for their transition to shorter boards and bigger surf conditions. Our original 7’9” Natural Surf gained a reputation for versatility, long-lasting and affordable surfboard – so we added subtle changes such as a nose-protector.

8’4’’ Magnum Learning to surf as an adult presents an exhilarating challenge – and the Magnum is up to it! Built to give performance to bigger surfers, the Magnum’s exceptional volume makes it easy to paddle and catch waves, no matter your size or ability. Offering its riders a fast learning curve, its mid-range length keeps it loose and fun in a wide range of surf conditions. Intermediate surfers will gain confi dence and progress quickly by catching heaps of waves and easily turning this board through the faster sections of any break. This durable, ACS built, 8’4” Magnum surfboard will fuel your surfi ng addiction!

Incomparably long life

The last 5 years has seen many changes in surfboard manufacturing. No longer is a regular polyester foam and fi breglass regarded as the only way to make a board. Nowadays surfers are able to enjoy a much wider variety of new and innovative methods of surfboard construction that provide much improved durability without extra weight. BIC Sport has been at the forefront of epoxy technology for more than 10 years, longer than any other surfboard manufacturer and was the fi rst to develop a full range of epoxy composite surfboards.

BIC Sport’s E-Comp (Epoxy Composite) construction technique produces a board that is approximately 30% more durable while being almost identical with regard to stiffness and weight when compared to a similar polyester constructed surfboard. To accommodate the needs of more advanced surfers, E-Comp surfboards provide shapes that not only suit the intermediate surfer, but also experienced riders who know how to ride a surfboard.

The process forms the top and bottom - (ASA) surfaces of the board over aluminium moulds. These formed surfaces are then pressed over a pre-shaped, lightweight EPS foam core, (the lightest surfboard foam available) which is covered in 6-oz fi bre glass cloth and epoxy resin to give the board strength. This construction provides an extremely stiff, lightweight surfboard that is approx. 30% more durable than a standard polyester surfboard but almost identical with regard to its fl ex characteristics and weight.

Built with the durable E-Comp construction, the Classic Longboard will last you many years and through thousands of great surfs!

9’4’’ Nat Young The elder statesman’s choice When fi ve times world champion Nat Young declares his respect for a particular longboard, you know it’s going to be exceptional. Designed by his long time surfi ng mate Darrell “Rooster” Dell, this 9’4” is Nat’s personal favourite – and it’s also the preferred longboard of many intermediate and experienced surfers who want a longboard that combines superb design, smooth wave entry and speed with exceptional manoeuvrability.Darrell’s 9’4’’ design is lightly concaved with conventional rocker through the nose, which then fl ows into a fl attened area right below the rider in the paddling position to allow effi cient paddling and smooth wave selection. From there it moves into a rolled V, pronounced under foot to provide easy and smooth rail to rail transitions. Managing to deftly combine the delicate combination of those two critical design factors ensures that the board is the ultimate in versatile surfi ng, with all the characteristics of regular construction with regard to weight and stiffness, and the sturdiness of E-Comp Technology.

10’0’’ Noserider Outstanding fl exibility!Offering big volume for big riders, Bob Pearson poured over a quarter of a century’s shaping experience and devotion to longboarding into this refi ned 10’ longboard. Incorporating well-proportioned volume and excellent glide with outstanding noseriding design, it’s suitable for the surfi ng spectrum from absolute beginner through to seasoned campaigner. The 10’ Noserider is one of the easiest boards to paddle, its modern design ensures effortless and early wave entry, while its light and durable E-Comp construction makes it effortless to handle in and out of the water.

The G-Board gets about as close to those criteria as physically possible. G-Boards make learning to surf Easy & Safe.

In 2009 the range is split into three categories:

The G Boards Kid (ORANGE): our brand new board specially developed for children weighing less than 40kg.

Fins are an integral part of any surfboard and the better you become as a surfer the more notice you should take of your fi ns. They are literally your driving force through the water. The Hydronamic FinsHydronamic fi ns are the latest creation from BIC Surf and these fi ns debut with the new 6’2” Shortboard using our widely respected Fin-Loc attachment system. Developed by BIC Surf R&D, Hydronamic fi ns represent a vast improvement on conventional non-foiled surfboard fi ns. Conventional fi ns have a double foiled centre fi n with side fi ns that are fl at on the inside. An inside fl at surface running through the water is proven to cause unnecessary drag that slows down your speed and reduces the reactivity. To solve this problem we have given the inside edge of our Hydronamic fi ns a curved profi le that allows water to run freely over the surface of the fi n without causing drag, thereby increasing the speed of them through the water while not losing any of the control characteristics that the thruster fi n confi guration so successfully provides.
