Stable and smoothThe Tri-Hull Design shape was developed to provide excellent gliding and manoeuvrability while maintaining stability. Inspired from current trimaran designs, the THD shape features: a central section (1) with fluid lines for increased gliding, two outside hull sections (2) to stabilise the kayak without holding it back and two intermediate concaves (3) to create lift and improve glide. Most other kayaks feature displacement or V-hulls which are stable when paddling, but become unstable when stopped for fishing. The BIC Sport THD shape provides stability underway AND while fishing. Plus, the shallow draft (less than 10cm) enables the boat to access the most remote fishing spots.

TST Technology: solid, light and safeBIC Sport kayaks are made from two polyethylene sheets “deck - hull” which are heat-moulded and assembled in one single operation. This fusion brings out a very solid material, totally safe, with no visible assembly line. This Twin Sheet Technology creates a product that is more solid, lighter and better finished that rotomoulded products. BIC Sport kayaks are also anti-UV treated and are shock and scratch-resistant.

Fully equipped

Equipped for fishingStable, with very little water draught and perfectly equipped with a wide deck for carrying equipment, BIC Sport fishing kayaks are ideal for river and sea fishing. They come fitted with storage hatches and rod holders.

MotorizedUsing the optional accessory mount, the Kalao and the Trinidad can be easily fitted with an electric motor that can be positioned either in the centre or to the rear depending on the number of paddlers. This is a very useful safety element, bringing back-up to families, trekkers and anglers and giving paddlers more independence.


Exceptional stabilityTheir catamaran hull gives them much more stability than all flat or V hulls. This is a major advantage for hunting, fishing or for the transport of equipment to an anchored boat. The BIC 245 can comfortably accommodate three people who can, if necessary, change sides without any risk of capsizing.

Easily carried

The double hull gives added safety to passengers. Even if a very violent impact made a hole on the outside hull, the inner hull would provide sufficient flotation to get back to shore.

The Sportyak and the BIC 245 are made of polyethylene which makes them virtually indestructible. You don’t have to worry about leaving them in dinghy racks or on the beach. UV rays, salt and every day impacts have no effect on them. When no longer in use, these boats are entirely recyclable.

The Sportyak and the BIC 245 are light and therefore easily lifted onto the roof of a car.Several carry-handles have been positioned around the BIC 245 to facilitate its beach-launching and handling. The BIC 245 is fitted with wide rollers integrated into the design of the hull which do not affect in any way the boat’s performance on water, whether it is being rowed or powered by an outboard engine.The sportyak can be fitted with a roller kit, which can stay in place during navigation.

Comparison BIC 245 versus V-hullAs soon as the weight is off-centre a V-Hull

becomes unstable and dangerous, unlike the double catamaran shape hull of the BIC 245, which provides

high stability and therefore prevents capsizing. Test done with two adults on the same side.

The Kalao is a veritable 4x4 of the kayak world. Equally at ease on the sea or rivers, for trecking or for fishing, it really is the kayak for all adventures. Like all BIC Sport kayaks it features plenty of innovations. The largely flat hull design with very little water draught is extremely stable and allows the kayak to go almost anywhere. Its fluid, stable hull design makes it comfortable for two adults with their fishing gear to go kayaking in search of that perfect fishing spot or for three adults to go paddling together on a leisurely trip. Another asset the Kalao offers for fishing activities : an electric engine can be fitted on to it. Such aspects as storing your belongings while kayaking, as well as carrying and transporting your kayak have also received detailed attention. This Fishing version of the Kalao has numerous additional features, including : 4 rod positions, 2 large watertight boxes, plenty of storage space… And last but not least : it’s unsinkable.

The Sportyak is the ideal little dinghy to take to go fishing or get to your anchored boat. Whether you choose to row or scull, it will always be stable, will come in handy in many situations and is easily stored. You can fit a small heat engine or electric engine, very silent, onto the engine bracket (optional). Being very light, it is easily dragged from a grassy verge onto the water. It can be used to reach that elusive fishing sport, to fetch fallen prey, or when out baiting (carpists).

Its « catamaran »-shape hull makes it particularly stable and therefore very safe when lifting pots and traps, as there is no risk of capsizing. Light weight, easy to carry, it gives excellent glide when out rowing, and can also be fitted with either a thermal or electric motor. The double rowing position ensures weights are kept centred, guaranteeing stability. The wheels are integrated into the design of the hull and are of no hindrance when out navigating. When empty, the cockpit float line is below the level of the floor, allowing the cockpit to empty itself and the boat can be kept safely at the mooring. The flat rear design of the boat makes it safe to store in the upright position.
