Record Types

@article An article published in a peri-odical.

@book A book with a defined authorand publisher.

@conference An article printed in the pro-ceedings of a conference.

@inproceedings Same as @conference.@manual A technical document or refer-

ence manual.@mastersthesis A thesis for a master’s degree.@misc For works that are hard to cat-

egorize (i.e. websites).@phdthesis Like @mastersthesis, but

for doctoral theses.

Data Fieldsaddress The address (usually just the

city and state) of the pub-lisher.

author The author(s); special con-siderations to be discussedshortly.

booktitle The title of the book, whenciting an article printed in abook.

edition The edition of the book; writeit out in full.

editor The editor(s); refer to the dis-cussion of the author name.

journal The name of the periodical inwhich an article is published.
