    Obituaries

The editors of Nestor are saddened to report the death of Dr. Martin David Kamen. Together with Dr. Samuel Rubin, Dr. Kamen discovered radioactive carbon-14 at the University of California at Berkeley in 1940. In addition to revolutionizing archaeological dating of organic materials, this discovery was instrumental for deciphering the chemical processes of living organisms.
