IV. The Condemnation Rev. 2:20

Page 10: Biblical Church History

(Rev 2:20) Notwithstanding I have a few things against

thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth

herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my

servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto

idols.

Indentifying the

prophetess Jezebel “Odor of

affliction”

Page 12: Biblical Church History

This woman Jezebel is a false religious system

The question is why God would call this false religious system by that name Jezebel.

The answer is so that the common man could identify her through the Bible, by comparing Scripture with Scripture

(Rev 2:21-23) And I gave her space to repent of her

fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a

bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation,

except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with

death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to

your works.

Page 17: Biblical Church History

The space of time that god would have given to her to repent would of came from around 325 AD to 500 AD

We know this from the verbiage that God uses, “gave” which is past tense

Because she would not repent there is a absolute judgment coming to her and those that commit fornication with her

(Rev 17:1) And there came one of the seven angels which had the

seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that

sitteth upon many waters:

peoples, and multitudes, and

(2Ki 9:30-37) And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and

tired her head, and looked out at a window. And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri

peace, who slew his master? And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side?

who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs. And he said, Throw her down. So they

threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he

trode her under foot. And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king's daughter. And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of

her hands. Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD,

which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the

flesh of Jezebel: And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.

Page 27: Biblical Church History

(Rev 14:8) And there followed another

angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that

great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of

the wrath of her fornication.

Page 28: Biblical Church History

(Rev 18:2-3) And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying,

Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the

habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the

wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the

earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the

abundance of her delicacies.

Page 29: Biblical Church History

(Rev 18:21) And a mighty angel took up a

stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying,

Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and

shall be found no more at all.

Page 30: Biblical Church History

(Rev 2:21-23) And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit

adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her

children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he

Who is this that God is referring to as her children

Don’t forget what God called her in (Rev 17:5) And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

(2Ki 10:1) And Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote

letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders,

and to them that brought up Ahab's children, saying,

(2Ki 10:7) And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king's sons, and slew

seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him

them to Jezreel.

Vatican welcomes

Anglicans into Catholic Church

October 21, 2009 ROME, Italy (CNN) -- The Vatican said Tuesday it has

worked out a way for groups of Anglicans who are dissatisfied with their faith to join the Catholic Church. The parishes would be led by former Anglican clergy -- including those who are married -- who would be ordained as Catholic priests, said the Rev. James Massa, ecumenical director of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops."This sets up a process for whole groups of Anglicans -- clergy and laity -- to enter in to the Catholic Church while retaining their forms of worship and other Anglican traditions," Massa said…

Vatican welcomes

Anglicans into Catholic Church

October 21, 2009

…The number of Anglicans wishing to join the Catholic Church has increased in recent years as the Anglican Church has welcomed the ordination of women and openly gay clergy and blessed homosexual partnerships, said Cardinal William Joseph Levada, the head of the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. It is encouraging for them to know their worship experience wouldn't be turned upside down by the Roman Catholic Church," Williams said. "The person in the pew should see very little difference in the way we pray. We might be asked to pray aloud for any pope who happens to be in office, in addition to praying for our primate."Really, there'd be very little other difference."

Catholics, Lutherans,

Methodists Mark Tenth Anniversary

Of Historic Agreement

September 29, 2009WASHINGTON DC (MetroCatholic) – Cardinal Francis George of Chicago, President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), will join other church leaders in downtown Chicago, October 1, to commemorate the signing of a joint agreement on the Doctrine of Justification, a matter that for centuries divided Christians.Leaders from the Catholic, Lutheran, and Methodist churches will gather at Old Saint Patrick’s Church for a service of Evening Prayer that will include talks paying tribute to the Joint Declaration, signed on October 31, 1999, by the Vatican and the Lutheran World Federation.“This is an historic moment on the journey toward Christian unity,” said Father James Massa, USCCB Executive Director… “The Joint Declaration expressed a common understanding of how human beings are made right with God through the life-giving death of Jesus Christ,” Father Massa said.

Page 36: Biblical Church History

(2Th 1:6-8) Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to

them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that

obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

The Historical plight (Rev 2:22-23)

(Black Death)

•Medically it was called “bubonic”•Plague causes fever and a painful swelling of the lymph glands called buboes, which is how it gets its name•25 million people died in just under five years between 1347 and 1352.•Their faces would turn black at the point of death

ThyatIra

Page 39: Biblical Church History

•  The Black Death was one of the worst natural disasters in history. In 1347 A.D., a great plague swept over Europe,  ravaged  cities causing  widespread  hysteria  and death. One third of the population of Europe died. "The impact upon the future of England was greater than upon any other European country." (Cartwright, 1991) The primary culprits in transmitting this disease were oriental rat fleas carried on the back of black rats.

Page 40: Biblical Church History

•  One of the groups that suffered the most was the Catholic church. It lost prestige, spiritual authority, and leadership over the people. How? The church promised cures, treatment, and an explanation for the plague. They said it was God's will, but the reason for this awful punishment was unknown. People wanted answers, but the priests and bishops didn't have any. The clergy abandoned their Christian duties and fled. People prayed to God and begged for forgiveness. After the plague, ended angry and frustrated villagers started to revolt against the church. The survivors were also enraged at doctors, who didn't cure patients, but said they could.

(Rev 2:25-29) But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the

morning star. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto

the churches.

words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in

Christ Jesus.

(1Jn 5:4-5) For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the

victory that overcometh the world, even our

faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth

that Jesus is the Son of God?

Page 48: Biblical Church History

Page 49: Biblical Church History

(Psa 2:6-10) Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will

declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this

day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the

heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges

of the earth.

(Rev 20:6) Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:

on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall

reign with him a thousand years

(Rev 2:25-29) But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. And he that overcometh, and keepeth my

(Rev 22:16) I Jesus have sent mine angel

to testify unto you these things in the

churches. I am the root and the offspring of

David, and the bright and morning star.
