1. Learning Church history will help us to identify the false doctrine of the Synagogue of Satan, which Rev. 17:5 calls the “MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS”

2. There are only 2 religions in the world; God’s Satan’s

Ephesus

Clement of Rome (30-100 AD)• Preaches a doctrine that the pastors are the high priest and the common man is just a regular priest

• Jesus calls this “deeds of the Nicolaitans”, which means to rule over the common man

• Every time Jesus mentions it he hates it.

Ignatius (80-100 AD)• First to use the term “Catholic” which means universal. The word was a pagan philosophical term, and he used it to refer to a universal Christianity• In time the word comes to refer to a political hierarchy at Rome which was supposed to control all local churches (Roman Catholic)• He also called himself the “Son of the Church”

Papias (60-130 AD) Writes that Peter is in Rome (Rom. 16?)

This sets the stage for Peter to be the 1st Pope and that there would be an Apostolic Succession (Rev. 2:2)

He writes that Mark’s Gospel is really Peter’s Gospel, because he told him what to write

(Rev 2:2) I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and

how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are

apostles, and are not, and hast found them

The teaching that God is finished

with Jew through the influence of the Ante- Nicene Church fathers

They taught that we are not only spiritual Jews but physical Jews, therefore all the promises to the Jew are now given to the church.

Jesus calls this teaching Blasphemous and Satanic.

(Rev 2:9) I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou

art rich) and I know the blasphemy of

them which say they are Jews, and are not,

but are the synagogue of Satan.

Page 15: Biblical Church History

The Roman Catholic Church sees

itself as the heir to the promises given to the Nation of Israel… Because they are now Jews

By the middle of the 4th century Augustine writes “The City of God” and in it he writes that Rome has now replaced the Jerusalem as the city of God

(Rev 17:1-6) And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying

unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many

waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness:

and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and

scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And

upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman

drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I

wondered with great admiration.

THE IDENTITY OF THE BEAST

Page 24: Biblical Church History

(Rev 13:1) And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast

rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and

upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

(Rev 13:2) And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and

his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and

great authority.

Page 25: Biblical Church History

(Rev 12:3-4) And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a

great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third

part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as

soon as it was born.(Rev 12:9) And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called

the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into

the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Page 26: Biblical Church History

(Rev 13:11) And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb,

and he spake as a dragon.(Rev 13:12-13) And he exerciseth

all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose

deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he

maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of

men,

THE IDENTITY OF THE WOMAN

1.The women is a “religious system”

Page 29: Biblical Church History

(Rev 2:20-24) Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that

woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my

servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she

repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he

which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your

works. But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine,

and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other

burden.

Rome referred to as Babylon (18:21)

SMYrNA

In his book, Catholicism and Fundamentalism, Catholic apologist Karl Keating writes: "Babylon is a code word for Rome. It is used that way six times in the last book of the Bible [so he acknowledges that the woman in Rev 17 is Rome!] Sibylling Oracles (5, 159Q, the Apocalypse of Baruch (ii, 1), and Esdras (3:1). Eusebius Pamphilius, writing about 303, noted that ...Peter ...referred to [Rome] figuratively as Babylon [in 1 Pe 5:13]." The Bible often addresses a person or city under another name. For example, Jerusalem is called "Sodom and Egypt" (Rev 11:8) and Satan is addressed as the king of Babylon in Isaiah 14 and as the prince of Tyrus in Ezekiel 28.

Babylon was not built on

seven hills, nor does it meet any of the other identifying criteria. Rome, however, was and has universally been known as the city of seven hills. The Catholic Encyclopedia states: "It is within the city of Rome, called the city of seven hills, that the entire area of Vatican State proper is now confined."

Museum, minted at Tarraco in 71 A.D. during the reign of Vespasian (69-79 A.D.), declaring

him to be the Pontifex Maximus (a title assumed by the papacy), which depicts the city of Rome as both the goddess Dea-Roma seated on 7 hills, and a she-wolf suckling Romulus and

Remus (just above the R in ROMA).

On the12th of March 2000, during the Papal Apology Mass, the pope and other

members of the Roman Catholic priesthood wore various shades of

violet/purple because it also occurred during the Catholic festival of Lent,

when the color of purple is traditionally worn.

Page 51: Biblical Church History

Priests of the Catholic Church regularly wear red vestments on Good Friday, Palm Sunday, Pentecost,

Birthday Feasts of the Apostles and Evangelists, and the Feasts of Martyrs. Purple vestments are worn on Advent, Lent, and at Funerals, although other colors are optional

on some of those days. Other approved colors are white, green, black and rose and gold. A distinctive

The most respected of the ecclesiastical symbols, the tiara, or

triregno, is also a symbol of the pope's authority over the Church.

No one knows for certain when the tiara originated, and it has

undergone many changes since it first appeared at the Papal Court.

The tiara comprises three separate crowns, or diadems. The bottom

crown appeared in the ninth century as ornamentation at the

base of the mitre.    When pontiffs assumed the

temporal role of sovereign princes, they further adorned the base

decorations with the jeweled crown of the princes of the time. The

second crown was added by Pope Boniface VIII in A.D. 1298 to

represent his spiritual dominion. By A.D. 1315, the triregno appears in

the documentation of the Papal Treasury.
