Transcript of Bible Eschatology What happens after death? The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer...
The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not
suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for
the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall
be upon himself. (Ezekiel 18:20 ESV)

LIFE DEATH
Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being
tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil,
and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted
when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire
when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is
fully grown brings forth death. (James 1:13-15 ESV)
…when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven
with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting
vengeance on those who do not know God and on those
who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer
the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the
presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 ESV)
…and said, “Truly, I say to you,
unless you turn and become like children, you will never
enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:3 ESV)
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign.
Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. He shall eat curds and honey
when he knows how to refuse the evil and choose the good.
For before the boy knows how to refuse the evil and choose
the good, the land whose two kings you dread will be
deserted. (Isaiah 7:14-16 ESV)

For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and
virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control,
and self-control with steadfastness, and
steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly
affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these
qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from
being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord
Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:5-8 ESV)
Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw
some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for
ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto
death, and I will give you the crown of life.
(Revelation 2:10 ESV)Let both grow together until
the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be
burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.’” (Matthew 13:30 ESV)

The poor man died and was carried by the
angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also
died and was buried, and in Hades, being in
torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw
Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.
(Luke 16:22-23 ESV)
And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
(Luke 23:43 ESV)
For you will not abandon my soul to
Hades, or let your Holy One see corruption.
(Acts 2:27 ESV)
…he foresaw and spoke about the
resurrection of the Christ, that he was not
abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see
corruption. (Acts 2:31 ESV)
For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we
have a building from God, a house not made
with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly
dwelling, if indeed by putting it on we may not
be found naked. For while we are still in this
tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we
would be unclothed, but that we would be
further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
(2 Corinthians 5:1-4 ESV)
I must go on boasting. Though there is nothing to be gained
by it, I will go on to visions and revelations
of the Lord. I know a man in Christ who
fourteen years ago was caught up to the third
heaven—whether in the body or out of the body I
do not know, God knows. And I know that this man was caught up into paradise—whether
in the body or out of the body I do not know, God
knows—and he heard things that cannot be
told, which man may not utter. (2 Cor. 12:1-4 ESV)
And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall
not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18 ESV)
When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar
the souls of those who had been slain for the
word of God and for the witness they had borne.
They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord,
holy and true, how long before you will judge and
avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Then they were each given a white robe
and told to rest a little longer, until the number
of their fellow servants and their brothers should
be complete, who were to be killed as they
themselves had been. (Revelation 6:9-11 ESV)

if by turning the cities of Sodom and
Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of
what is going to happen to the
ungodly; and if he rescued righteous
Lot, greatly distressed …then the

And the angels who did not stay within

their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy
darkness until the judgment of the great day—

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people
one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the
goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed
me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see
you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked
and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say
to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you
gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome
me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry
or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer
them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to
me.’ And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
