Each lesson includes the following:Title:The title refers to the “Big Bible - little me” storybook. Also includes a story number to easily find the related craft pages in the student book.

Reference:You will find Bible verse references to easily locate the stories in your preferred Bible version.

Topic:Each Bible story brings out a particular lesson, either a moral character value or a foundation of faith. It can be helpful when you need an activity to accompany a lesson topic.

A verse:A Bible verse included, related to the lesson of the story. It’s a way to have something that the children can take home and add to their craft project or memorize together. These verses are often reworded in order to simplify them for children.

Tell the story idea:These ideas help children visualize and remember the story. You can use pictures from our Bible or another picture Bible as well as tons of toys or simple objects/materials to help bring the story to life and keep the children’s interest.

Introduction

A Bible curriculum for family devotions or Sunday School, filled with variety, play, art projects, lessons and more to help children dig deeper into God’s Word.

This curriculum is based on the “Big Bible - little me” book available at www.icharacter.org, Amazon and bookstores.

Games: These game ideas add variety and give children a chance to get up and move around. Most of the games will be either related to the story or story lesson. No much preparation is needed for these games. The game print-outs are provided in the student’s Craft book and other items can be easily found in your home or classroom.

Discussion questions: After each game, you will find some discussion questions, which offer:

1. An opportunity to calm the children down.2. Suggestions on how to conclude the story lesson.3. An opportunity for children to express themselves.4. A way to help them apply the story and lesson to their own lives.

Crafts: The templates from the students curriculum craft book are listed here. We highly recommend printing the crafts pages onto cardpaper or thick paper in order for the activities and games to work as intended. These arts and crafts are simple enough for most children to do with little help from the teacher/parent. Wide grey lines around the pictures help children know where to cut. Dotted lines are for folding.

Activity Sheets: All the activity sheets listed here are found in the “Big Bible - little me Coloring/Activity book” available at www.icharacter.org and Amazon.

Prayer/Praise idea:Includes ideas for each lesson where children can experience a time of prayer or praise and learning new ways to commune with God. From the quiet and calm to the more energetic prayer ideas; your children will find prayer times fun and enjoyable.

Supplies needed: Suggested supplies you may need for your activities are listed with each game or craft project. We suggest taking some time to review the content and material beforehand, in order to give yourself enough time to prepare and gather them before your class time.

New Testament Stories

God Makes the World

(Genesis 1:1) Lesson topic: DILIGENCE

A verse to remember:“Diligent hands that work hard, make you rich.” (Proverbs 10:4)

Tell the story idea:Gather a few cans of different colors of play dough and pass them around to each child, so there’s enough for each one to have a ball. As you tell the story, ask the children to create different objects, animals or people, depending on the colors of play dough that they have. Then you can use them as visual aids for while you teach your lesson.

Game 1: Creation Guess-BagFill a bag with all sorts of mini toys or things God has made. Children take a turn to feel inside and guess one object. If they think they have it right, they can pull it out and show everyone. A few ideas of things to add to your bag: rock, flower, nut, fruit, carrot, leaf, small tree branch, toy animals, bugs or people that can be detected by feeling, etc.

Game 2: God made meEach child gets a turn to say “God made me and I start with the letter G (or whatever letter they choose.)” The other children must guess what they are, grass, gorilla, goat? Now it’s the next person who guessed to think of something. Keep going till all the children have had a turn and continue to have fun.

Discussion: • Can you name all the things that God created? Why or why

not?• Can you name three of your favorite things that God created?• Have you ever made something on your own that you were

proud of showing off?• Isn’t God’s creation wonderful to enjoy? When do you enjoy

it the most? • Have you ever done something to help out at home that you

wanted your mom and dad to know about? (You made your bed on your own. You served yourself breakfast. You put your dish in the dishwasher. You brushed your own hair, etc.)

• How did it feel?

my notes (Chapter 1)

Craft: Creation paper pockets (See Big Bible – little me craft book.)

Give each child an A4 colored paper. Fold it in half (1). Open it again and then fold both ends halfway to the middle (2). Glue the sides together, as well as the middle for the inside pockets (3). Children cut out and glue the number cards, one onto each pocket (4). Then, they can color and cut out all the pictures to place into the appropriate pockets. Again, fold the paper in the middle and place it as a stand-up card (5). This is a great project to help children review the 6 days of creation.

Activity Sheets: (See Big Bible – little me color/activity book.)

Story color pageHidden message

Prayer/Praise idea:Start out with a round of praises, each child thanking God for one of their favorite things that He has created. Then have another round for each one to pray for more diligence with something they’re learning how to do. For example: “God, please give me diligence as I practice wiping the table, or tying my shoes,” etc.

We highly recommend printing these crafts pages onto cardpaper or thick paper in order for the activities and games to work as intended.

These arts and crafts are simple enough for most children to do with little help from the teacher/parent. Wide grey lines around the pictures help children know where

to cut. Dotted lines are for folding. Included are all the crafts templates, some of the games and a verse for each Bible lesson. (Note: the verses are sometimes dispersed

throughout the book in order to save on space when printing.)

Have fun crafting and exploring God’s Word!
