The Future is Bright! Our building plans are starting to evolve and I hope to share some

visual concepts with you in the near future.  I met with the architects today who have some great ideas to enhance the learning experience at Box Hill North.  In the meantime, a big thank you to Jaryd who helped position the rocks around the play space uphill.  Once the masterplan has been developed, we will be able to action some key areas in the playground for all students to enjoy.  Teaching and LearningOur specialist program has undertaken some adjustment to best meet the learning needs of our students.  Congratulations to Seona Cosgriff, who was successful in securing a teaching role in a different setting.  Kelly Wild has developed a comprehensive Performing Arts Program for class teachers to implement each week.  Janine Reymers will teach STEAM and Library throughout the week, adding value to educational journey of our students.  Our teaching teams will upload fortnightly overviews of their programs through ‘Outside the Box’ – our curriculum website to provide greater transparency in key learning objectives.    Challenging the MindSome of our senior students started their learning enrichment program this week as part of an initiative to challenge and support students exceeding expectations.  We have also secured the services of Born to Soar who will begin their Gifted and Talented Program in Term 2.  An information session for parents will be coordinated towards the end of this term, with the program offered as an elective to all students from Prep to Year 6.  G.A.T.E. Ways is scheduled, together with the CSIRO Science Competition for later in 2021. Health and SafetyMasks are back in fashion and a requirement for all indoor access while onsite.  This applies to anyone over the age of 12 (with the exception of primary students or when staff are teaching).  At this point, masks are not essential during drop off and pick up times, unless of course you plan on entering the building.  I understand the inconvenience and appreciate the support of our community who always place safety of others’ first.  Thank you.  CommunityI look forward to seeing you at assembly in the morning.  It’s always a great way to connect as a community and celebrate the achievement of our wonderful students.  Good luck to Alisha and Callum, who will both lead their very first assembly.  I have been really impressed by their mature approach in preparation for tomorrow and the way they have led by example since we returned from holidays.  As always, there is opportunity to grab a cup of tea of coffee and mingle with parents after assembly.  Hope to see you there.

ASSEMBLY TOMORROWOur weekly Friday assembly will start tomorrow outside the performing arts building, weather permitting of course.  See you all there!
