Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) has initiated 'Saur Mitra Akshay Urja' Shop Scheme, under which shops of solar energy based appliances will be opened in rural areas of state so as to establish marketing network there. Under the rule of BharatiyaJanata Party, it has accommodated the shops, appliances like solar homelights, solar street lights, solar TV, solar fans, solar panels, LED bulb, solar task light, solar study lamp, solar lantern etc. will be sold with five year guarantee.

CREDA is the main organization of Chhattisgarh which is making all these facilities approved. Only CREDA approved appliances will be kept in these shops. Candidates interested in opening shops will have to take approval from CREDA and deposit demand draft of Rs 10,000 for registration at District Headquarters of CREDA offices.

Candidates experienced in selling and repairing electrical appliances may apply for opening renewable energy shop. Registration will be done at 'first come first serve' basis.

Bharatiya Janata Party is ruling the state for the past 14 years. The Department of Energy has electrified nearly two million 35 thousand 301 farmers' irrigation pumps.

For making electricity connections for the irrigation pumps nearly 25 thousand 510 farmers have been facilitated. In the state the number of irrigation pumps has increased up to three lakh 31 thousand 566.

Under the reign of Bharatiya Janta Party, the Chhattisgarh government has electrified a number of villages. Last year 2014, around 25 thousand 510 farmers were given electricity connections to the pumps. In 2014, 21 thousand 680 temporary connections were provided to farmers.

The Chhattisgarh government has provided irrigation pumps to electric power lines to expand the connection is providing grants to farmers. Each farmer will be provided with 75 thousand rupees per irrigation pump power line.
