You can get support from Better in Kirklees to get involvedin community activities, to get out and about near to whereyou live and with support, enable you to get involved insomething that you enjoy for better health and wellbeing.We are a friendly service that is local and free of charge,however some activities may have a small cost. By takingpart in Better in Kirklees, you can take more control of yourmind and body in ways that suit you.
You can be part of Better in Kirklees if you live in the Kirkleesarea, are over 18 and have a physical disability, sensoryimpairment, a long- term health condition, a learningdisability, mental health issues, or drug and alcohol issues,and/or you are an unpaid carer. We accept referrals fromstaff at your GP surgery, your social worker or any staffmember who supports you. You can also refer yourself andfamily and friends can refer on your behalf.
Volunteering... Better in Kirklees focuses on what you cancontribute as well as what you need. You can get involved,help out, support others and your community, even if youneed support yourself. We are open to hearing your ideasand suggestions.

We are also happy to providematerial in large print and other formats. If you require support inthis way, we will be happy to discuss this with you or your carer.
NHS Greater Huddersfield, North Kirklees CCGs and Kirkees Council has fundeda partnership led by the charity Touchstone

options such as: social groups arts & crafts luncheon clubs sports
training & education gardening & environmental cultural groups volunteering
