already who love ‘going fishing’, cook-ing’, learning games with rules such as 'What’s the time Mr Wolf' and making up their own games. Here are some photos of us enjoying our outdoor space:
We have also enjoyed learning about eyes. Read what our children understand about eyes:
‘I can look around with my eye and I don’t have to move my head’ said Mitch-ell.‘There can be different colour eyes’ said Briarna.‘When it is dark, my pupils get bigger’ said Liam.‘If you see something light they go small-er’ said Tobi.‘My eyes are blue, I have brown eye lash-es’ said Emily.‘Eyes see things when they send a mes-sage to my brain’ said Mia.‘We need eyes to see things’ said Apajok.‘I have a pupil and iris and eye balls’ said Tiana.‘I move my eyes all day, I go shopping with my eyes’ said Millie.
Can you believe we are nearly at the end of term 1! Bethany ELC has been up and running now for 5 weeks. We love our new space especially our beautiful nature play area.Nature play helps to promote the development of motor skills, problem solving skills, language development, social-emotional growth, creativity, as well as science and mathematical un-derstanding. Being outside also reduces stress, improves eyesight and promotes wellbeing and self-discipline. We have seen such a growth in our children
Our beautiful rabbit friends were finally able to join us after having their latest vaccinations - just in time for Easter. We love taking care of them so much, feed-ing them hay and some fruit and vege-tables, checking their water and moving them in to the shade when it gets too hot. Audrey is the big rabbit and Alfie is the little rabbit. Here are some photos of our children meeting the rabbits:
With Easter fast approaching we all know children love the excitement of Easter eggs and Easter bunny. Let’s not forget the true meaning of Easter that Jesus died on the cross for all the sins of the world so that we can have a relation-ship with Him. The most amazing thing about Easter is that Jesus rose up from the grave. Easter eggs are not just a nice thing to eat, they also represent the new life we can have when we invite Jesus in to our hearts. I trust you will all have a blessed Easter with your families.

Deputy's CornerThe first Year 6 Student Leadership Conference was launched on Thurs-day 6th of April. All of our Year 6 students were privileged to hear three outstanding speakers. Flying Officer Todd Skipper from the RAAF spoke to our students about the qualities and styles of leadership. Ms Melissa Symonds (Adaptive Education Coordinator) spoke about overcoming obstacles in her life as a leader and Pastor Mike Weiring from Torrens Val-ley Christian Centre spoke about the leadership of Jesus as he demonstrat-ed servant leadership. It was a terrific day of team games and networking within their peer group, and I was so proud of the students for their excel-lent participation.
Our Early Learning Centre has been an exceptional success this year. The new facilities are outstanding and it has been such a blessing to be able to see our newest members of the school settling in so well. The Early Learning Centre will be officially opened on Wednesday 17th of May (Week 3 of Term 2) at 11am in the Performing Arts Centre. Everyone from our school community is wel-come to come to the official opening.
Next week is a shorter week as we will finish at 12:10 pm on Thursday 13th of April, breaking up for the Eas-ter long weekend. I do wish you and your family a very safe and blessed Easter. I pray that you will have a lovely school break and I look forward to seeing you all in Term 2!
God bless you!
