PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.
I would also like to thank the membershipcommittee for the skit even though Drew drankone of my beers during the skit. The challengefrom the reverend Bruce to all past presidentswas bold and unexpected. I know our invocationleader Brent Ward has called on the pastpresidents to start the year of invocations. I amvery thankful for Carol Van Bruggen generosityfrom her Africa trip. Mary was touched by hergifts. Four bell ringers out the gate. The generosity of this club is unreal. With a groupas great as ours we can’t help but have a greatyear. The District Governor stayed for the wholemeeting unlike our famous one name member. We will have another show next Friday and I willdeal with her then.
Your Prez,
Rick

Posted by Lee Holmes
Past Presidents electing Rick Bixler as Presidentof Rotary Club of Point West – Sacramento, mayhave been thinking "what could go wrong?"
Many members showed up wanting to see whatwill go wrong?
Now you can sit back and enjoy the ride as we allfind out.
Upon introduction by Sgt. At Arms, Tom Knox ,President Bixler received a long, approvingapplause, cat calls and whistles. The lights weredimmed and a video was played.

President Bixler taking the podium expressedsome people didn't know what was happeningbecause he received some gifts – Beer. It wasexpressed to him that they are for "emergenciesonly." He promptly declared the emergency juststarted.
President Bixler openedthe meeting with anenthusiastic ringing ofthe District 5180 OverallClub of the Year Bell.Commenting, we're goingto use it as much as wecan because we probablydon't get to keep it thatlong.
Welcome everyone to the33rd Term of Point WestRotary Club. First
acknowledging and thanking Bob Porter as thereason he is a member of the club, his sponsor. Not sure if there were more people applaudingBob as his sponsor or holding Bob responsible forwhat could go wrong? Everything started in Bob'sterm and now he will lead us in the Pledge ofAllegiance.
In the interest of simplifying. Being sure all areable to sing the morning song. There are twosongs for which one is selected by a coin toss. Guy

Hielman favorites: My Country Tis of Thee andGod Bless America. Lee Holmes still leads thesong. No need for the words on the screen as weall know the lyrics. If you don't, you most surelycan hear Lee; even those of you in the back of theroom.
President Bixler stating, "Now it is time for atradition". Calling upon Reverend BruceLevering to provide the Invocation.
Bruce opened with a non-denominational prayer. Then he spoke directly to the past presidents ofthe club scheduled to give future Invocations witha challenge of closing the Invocation with a $100Bell Ringer to the Club of Point West Foundation.Closing with a witty rhyme and Bell Ringer.
For Thirty-two years, we've been meetingWe've started them all, with the Reverend's

Why I wanted to be President of PointWest Rotary –
It has always been important to me to be aroundregular folks who can laugh at life and have funespecially amongst all the frustrations of dailylife.Point West Rotary has given me a family offriends who do just that, to varying degrees, andwho allow me to do the same.Together we have moved mountains throughcommunity care, kindness and awareness and Iam happiest being part of that.At this year’s Rotary International Convention, Iwas humbled by the “hum” in the air from somany people worldwide who basically live theirlives the same way.I quote from Nelson Mandela’s 1994 InauguralAddress “We ask ourselves, who am I to bebrilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?To me we are a TEAM – “Together Every
