BEST BETS‘Peter Pan’ fl ies into Succop
BUTLER TWP — Sing Hosanna! stages the musi-cal “Peter Pan” in Novem-ber at the Succop Theater at Butler County Commu-nity College. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15, 16 and 17 and 2 p.m. Nov. 18.

Harrisvilleband to play
HARRISVILLE — The Harrisville Community Band will perform its an-nual fall concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Harrisville Fire Hall, 313 E. Mercer St.
The band will play a variety of songs, includ-ing “Spania March,” “An American Christmas,” “Pixar Movie Magic,” “Fi-delity March,” “Pachel-bel’s Canon” and “The Prince of Denmark March.”
Jim Jaskowak, Grove City Middle School music teacher and resident of Jackson Center, will direct the band as its new direc-tor.
Admission is free. Vol-unteer fi refi ghters will have refreshments for sale during the concert.
School stages ‘Pink Panther’
PORTERSVILLE — Por-tersville Christian School fi ne arts boosters will pres-ent the stage version of “The Pink Panther Strikes Again” at 7 p.m. Nov. 15, 16 and 17 at the school, 343 E. Portersville Road.
Based on the fi lm clas-sic starring Peter Sellars as Inspector Clouseau, this stage version opens with Paul Dreyfus, Clouseau’s long-suffering boss who has “gone over the edge,” holding the world ransom with the ultimate weapon, the Doomsday Machine.
Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for college students with ID, $5 for students, and free for children age 5 and younger.
Tickets will be available starting Monday at the school offi ce, or by mailing a self-addressed, stamped envelope with an order stating the show and the number and kind of tickets desired.

Pumpkin smashing set
PITTSBURGH — Carn-egie Science Center will host the Great Pumpkin Smash from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 3.
Visitors can take their carved pumpkins to roll off the science center roof. The jack-o’-lanterns will plummet to a target area on the ground. All pump-kins will be composted at the end of the event.
Free with general ad-mission, which is $17.95 for adults and $11.95 for chil-dren ages 3 to 12, the rain-or-shine event also will feature pumpkin-related science demonstrations throughout the day.

‘Silk Scream’ scheduled
PITTSBURGH — Silk Screen: Asian American Arts Organization, pres-
ents its third annual fall fi lm event, Silk Scream, at 7 p.m. today and Friday at Point Park University’s GRW auditorium, 414 Wood St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The event will feature
the Asian horror fi lm “Remington and the Curse of the Zombadings.”

Film festival marks 31 years
PITTSBURGH — The
Three Rivers Film Festival runs Nov. 2 to 17.
Celebrating 31 years, it is billed as the oldest fi lm festival in the region and will feature more than 55 fi lms and live music events.
The venues are the Har-ris Theater, the Melwood Screening Room, and the Regent Square Theater.
