Hailing from Queens, New York rap artist X-YLE has been a name in

the hip hop community for a number of years. Being influenced by artists

such as DMX, Nas, and many more, he has garnished a hip hop sound of

his own. This all has landed him recognition from his home state of New

York, as well as traveling south to Baltimore, and even to the Midwest in

St. Louis .

INTERVIEW:

BAR- What does the name stand for?

XYLE- X-YLE stands for being on your own. Secluded from everybody else

who may not understand you or your way of doing things.

BAR- How would you describe your music?

XYLE-: I describe it as reality. It’s from the heart, and I know that there

are people who relate to my subject matter even if they're afraid to ad-

mit what they go through. I couldn’t sit and talk about one thing all day eve-

ryday cause there’s more happening in my life than that. I can’t knock what

the next man or woman is doing on their side, but over here I can’t confine

myself to just talking about shit that has minimal effect on my everyday activ-

ities. I’m not in the club every Friday-Sunday because I’m running my brand

Monday-Monday. Doesn’t Mean I DONT party, I just feel I have more to offer

my audience.

BAR-Who were your influences in music growing up?

XYLE-The 3 main artist I looked up to when I 1st started Rapping was DMX,

BUSTA RHYMES, and NAS. Each one for different reasons. DMX for his emo-

tion and energy. You felt every word that the dog said no matter what he

was saying. BUSTA, I respected the animation in his music. He was real and

he was fun. He made it ok for you to be a "hardcore artist" and at the same

time be silly with it. Also what got me is his stage show. He to me is one of

the best stage performers ever. Raw energy from start to end. Nas I was

drawn to his story telling. He is poet, point blank period. He painted pictures

in its truest form, probably the only person who could rival that is SLICK RICK.

BAR- Tell us about your next project and any details we should know.

XYLE- Im working on a couple of projects actually. My album "THOUGHTS OF A NEW YORKER" is out now on my website

WWW.IAMXYLE.COM The online version on my home page and the hard copy deluxe version in the online store page. Im currently

pushing my new single "BACK & FORTH" on ITUNES as well as my website. Working on my new mixtape "BAD INTENTIONS" as

well as the FRONTLYNE project which is me along with my artists. I'm currently pushing a new tequila im affiliated with called "ORO

DE JALISCO". Along with that im in the final stages of launching the FRONTLYNE APPAREL. And in between all of this I'll be working

on my next album. Im not rushing it though, everything will be precise. I know it sounds like alot but this isnt a hobby for me.
