and first fire department in Pennsylvania.

• He also started the University of Pennsylvania.

• He proved through an experiment with a kite and a key that lightening is electricity.

• Helped write the Declaration of Independence.

INTERESTING FACTSAt the age if 16, he

became an excellent swimmer.

At the age of 22, he owned his own printing company where he printed money for the states of Pennsylvania and Delaware.
