4. A boy pushes the boxes along a level walkway as shown in Diagram 3.1 The boy experiences that the boxes move slowly.

When the boy removes one of the boxes as shown in Diagram 3.2, he experiences that the boxes move faster than

before although the same force was applied.

Seorang budak lelaki menolak beberapa buah kotak di sepanjang satu laluan seperti yang

ditunjukkan dalam Rajah 3.1. Budak lelaki itu mendapati kotak-kotak bergerak sangat

perlahan. Apabila budak lelaki itu mengeluarkan satu daripada kotak-kotak itu seperti

ditunjukkan dalam Rajah 3.2, dia mendapati kotak-kotak itu boleh digerakkan lebih laju,

walaupun daya yang sama dikenakan.

6. A student carried out an experiment to find out the relationship between mass, m, and the square of

oscillation period, T2, of plasticine, and to determine the tension in the saw blade while oscillating. The

student carried out the experiment with five different mass, m.

Seorang murid telah menjalankan suatu eksperimen bagi mengkaji hubungan di antara jisim, m, dan kuasa dua

kepada tempoh ayunan, T2, bagi plastesin, dan untuk menentukan nilai tegangan dalam bilah gergaji semasa

berayun. Murid tersebut telah menjalankan eksperimen tersebut dengan lima nilai jisim, m, yang berlainan.

The results of the experiment are shown on a graph of T2 against m as in Figure 2.1

(b) Diagram 2.4 shows the speed limit and the load limit of heavy vehicles such as buses and lorries.

Rajah 2.4 menunjukkan had laju dan had muatan bagi kenderaan berat seperti bas dan lori.

(i) Using concept of momentum and inertia, explain why the speed limit and load limit must be

imposed on heavy vehicles. [ 5 marks ]

Dengan menggunakan konsep momentum dan inersia, terangkan mengapa had laju dan had

muatan mesti dikenakan ke atas kenderaan berat [ 5 markah ]

(c) Diagram 2.5 shows a car speeding on a road. Diagram 2.6 shows the car crashed on an object. Due to the lack of safety features, the driver

sustained serious injury.

The following are few facts concerning the car:

(i) The car stopped too suddenly upon hitting the object

(ii) The driver was thrown out of the car, breaking the glass of the windscreen.

(iii) Sharp pieces of glass from the shattered windscreen cut the head of the driver.

(iv) The accident occurred at night. The driver did not see the object until it was very near.

(v) The front part of the car collapse

Berikut adalah beberapa fakta tentang kereta itu :

(i) Kereta itu berhenti dalam masa terlalu singkat semasa menempuh objek itu. (ii) Pemandu kereta dihumban keluar daripada kereta lalu memecahkan cermin depan kereta. (iii) Serpihan kaca daripada cermin depan yang pecah menghiris kepala pemandu. (iv) Kemalangan berlaku pada waktu malam.Pemandu kereta tidak nampak objek depan sehingga

ia sangat dekat. (v) Bahagian depan kereta kelihatan kemek.

Based on the above facts, suggest various features to be added to the car to improve its safety standard and

explain how each feature can help to reduce injury of the driver. [10 marks]

Berdasarkan fakta-fakta di atas, cadangkan ciri-ciri yang boleh dipasangkan pada kereta untu

menambahbaikkan mutu keselamatan. Terangkan bagaimana setiap cirri boleh mengurangkan kecederaan

pemandu kereta. [10 markah]
