V incent DiRico is the owner of Luigi’s Italian

Restaurant in New Hyde Park. For over 25 years,

guests have come through his doors to enjoy

a well-made cocktail, a diverse selection of wines and

most importantly, an unforgettable meal. It’s these

elements and the intangibles that have the community

return again and again — Luigi’s warm and welcoming atmosphere, the

friendly and familiar service, the excitement and of course, the personal

greeting at the door.

With his restaurant just blocks away from the Ronald McDonald House

of Long Island (RMH-LI), Vinny generously extends this experience to

families experiencing the pain of having a sick child in area hospitals.

RMH-LI’s Meals from the Heart dinner program provides families staying

at the House with a home-cooked meal each night —

a gesture that is very much appreciated after a long

day at the hospital. Vinny participates by donating

dinner for 42 families, once a month. During the

holidays, he invites families who cannot be

home for the holidays to enjoy a delicious

meal at his restaurant, where they are always greeted with compassion.

Vinny has been part of the RMH-LI family for over 12 years, helping the

House with fundraising efforts by attending and raising funds for the

charity’s Walk of Love, Mets Event and annual Galas.

Throughout all of his giving, he has been honored to have his wife

of 25 years, Ann and his two sons, Joseph and Ryan by his side.

We honor and thank Vinny for putting philanthropy at the forefront

of his life, leading by example both professionally and personally.
