INTRODUCTION
• Ben franklin was one of the founding fathers of the United States
• He was born in 1706 in Boston
EARLY LIFE• Born in January of 1706
• His dad made candles and soap
• He was born in Boston Massachusetts
• He had 16 siblings
• He started school at the age of 8 and ended
at the age of 10
• At the age of 17 he ran away to Philadelphia
JOBS• Ben liked to read and write
• Ben helped his brother print newspapers
• He eventually owned his own print shop and newspaper
called the Pennsylvania Gazette
INVENTIONS
• A heating stove
• He learned about electricity by experimenting with a kite
• He made a lighting rod to protect us from lighting
• Bifocals

• Swim Fins
LATER LIFE• Ben franklin became a postmaster and improved
the mail system
• He signed the Declaration of Independence &

• He died on April 17, 1790 at the age of 84

• In 1776 Ben asked France to help the American colonists win freedom from Great Britain.
