Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Proctor attended the Rockets ballgame Tuesday night at Middlesboro-so did a lot more people-but a lot more people got back home the same night. The Proctor's car Quit in downtown Middlesboro when they started home. Four young men tried to fix the car'and also two policemen-no mechanicon duty in .town. After one and one half hours everyone gave up and a very nice young policeman found a moteL with a vacancy and took them to it, where they spent the night, after calling home. Wednes-day morning as turning their key in they asked to use the phone to call a taxi, and explained why, since we were a,ways out of town. The young man there picked up his keys and insisted he take them in his snazzy sports tar. He left them at a parts stare the man there made a phone call, someone else picked them up in a small pickup truck and checked the car and said it would have to be towed, so took the Proctor's to a garage and went with a wrecker and pulled their care to an auto electric shop. Then took them to the caf where the mechanic worked until two o'clock. And decided the piece they needed had to be ordered from Knoxville. Another call home and their daughters. Louise and Eliza-

Also Billy Ray II, came to Middlesboro and brought them home. Their son, Doug, took them back the next afternoon to pick up the car. They stayed for another ballgame and the car got them home Thursday night. By the way-if anyone laughed, don't feel guilty,_they did too. It all turned out 6kay.

The certainly appreciate sev-eral young people in Middlesboro. They report the worzK 'h ies about the whole thing. Bob had to be off work a day, Louise had to find

* another babysitter, and an ele-phant stepped on their pocket-book. Luckily, Elizabe'th was spending Tuesday night with Tracy Mink.

The Ladies Aid Missionary Meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Mullins, March 8. Guests were Mrs. Larry Shivel, Mrs. Vina Benge and Miss Alicia Machal. Members present were Mrs. Mary Bell Johnson, Mrs. Margie Shivel, Mrs. Loraine New-larid, Mrs. Betty Machal, Mrs. Barbara Watson, Mrs. Mary Mar-tin, Mrs. Lou Payne, Mrs. Ella Mae Martin. Mrs..Emily 'ovak, Mrs. Ruth Shivel and Mrs. Mullins. Discussion was about sending get well cards to everyone in the vicinity and not just the members of our church.

The lesson on prayer was presented by Mrs. Barrara Watson, ending by reading "Desideralta." After refreshments, the group joined Betty Machal and Margie Shivel in singing many old and somenew songs. April's meeting will be at'the home of Mrs. Willie Cummins and Mrs.Elizabeth Mul-lins will have the lessons.
