MARTIAL APPLICATIONS30 HOURS / 2 LOCATIONS
Basic Boxing• The proper boxing stance – ready to attack or defend • STEP-DRAG-That right there is the basic boxing footwork. Step with the lead foot and drag the rear foot.
This stepping and dragging boxing footwork technique ensures that your weight is grounded and always ready to attack or defend. It also prevents you from walking or crossing your feet which can make you fall off balance.
• The PIVOT-The next most important boxing footwork technique you’ll need is the pivot. It’s usually done by pivoting off your front foot. You can use it defensively to avoid attacks, or offensively to find new punching angles. A pivot can be useful for counter-punching by taking you out of harm’s way and still keep you in range to throw counter punches.
• Basic Punching Technique-Start from a relaxed position, exhale as you throw the punch, tighten your fist and body muscles at impact, release your hand back to you.
• Left Straight (JAB) – the #1 most important weapon in boxing - Extend your left fist straight forward. Exhale sharply as you punch, rotating the fist to land with the palm down. Pull the hand back immediately after impact to defend.
• Right Straight (RIGHT CROSS) – your strongest punch • LEFT HOOK – a dangerous power punch• LEFT UPPERCUT – dangerous short to long-range punch• RIGHT UPPERCUT – dangerous short to long-range punch• Punch Combinations-1.Jab,2. right cross,3. left hook,4.overhand right,5. left uppercut, right uppercut,6.

BASIC CAPOEIRAINTERMEDIATE CAPOEIRA 70 HOURS
Basic Capoeira• Ginga: the most basic movement of Capoeira. Instead of taking a fixed stance, you have to keep moving all
the time; all the other moves derrive from this dance-like pattern. Ginga becomes soon second nature and provides great potential for unpredictable 3D movement and fake attacks.
• handstand: practice practice practice! It's very stylish and part of many defensive/offensive movements. If you never ever tried it, start with swinging up at a wall.
• Queda de Rins: "stand on the kidneys". Begin as if you wanted to go into a headstand; crouch. Turn both your knees that they face your right elbow. Shift your weight over your left hand, then lower your head. Place the area above your left hip on your left elbow and let the left side of your head touch the ground. Slowly raise your legs and put your right knee at your right elbow to a rest. Both legs are now drawn up.
• Au: the cartwheel. Immensely important in Capoeira. Use it for a quick retreat or lure your partner into a trap.
• Au Malandro: I really love this one. If you attempt a cartwheel and your roguish partner goes for the Cabecada (headbutt into your stomach), -BAFF- he'll get punished by your lightning-fast legs. To pull off, grab the ground with one hand and jump. Now you twist your chest slightly upwards and do the jacknife movement with the upper leg.
• Cocorinha: A way of avoiding circular kicks at a close distance.• Queda de Tres: While the Cocorinha is employed mainly in Regional, Angoleiros favor the Queda de Tres
instead.• Queda de Quatro: The Queda de Quatro is a way of dodging kicks and typical for Capoeira Angola.
RED BELT / ONE BLACK STRIPE
• Red signifies the red-hot heat of the Sun as the plant continues growing toward it. As a red belt student acquires more detailed knowledge, just as the plant grows slowly toward the Sun, so the red belt student learns to be more cautious with his knowledge and physical abilities. Red is a sign of danger, and the red belt is beginning to become dangerous with their knowledge and abilities. One black stripe reminds me that my physical body has no limits. I must keep pushing the envelope of fittness.

Wu Dan MOUNTIAN SNAKE FORM90 HOURS
Wu Dan Mountain• The Coiling Principle-A snake coils itself around its prey. As an aspiring snake stylist, you must learn to
utilize your counter striking strategy to wrap up an opponent's arm. In controlled sparring sessions, you have to maneuver yourself inside the opponent's personal space in order to get into position. You then practice wrapping up your training partner's arm at the elbow by rotating one of your arms clockwise or counterclockwise around his arm and then grabbing onto his clothing up by the shoulder. This traps him in place while, in a controlled manner, you practice striking with your other hand to an exposed, vulnerable area.
• Learning to Wait-When a snake's territory is invaded, it avoids the trespasser by coiling up or retreating. It never initiates an assault. Timing your counter strikes requires that you learn to be patient while also avoiding getting hit. The first punch or kick an opponent throws at you will most likely not expose the weak points you are aiming for. As you develop your snake style during sparring sessions, discipline yourself to continually evade rather than jumping in and engaging. As long as your partner is moving, an opening will eventually present itself. When this happens, work on closing the distance and exacting your assault with lightning speed.
• Precise Striking Points-Studying human anatomy is essential for assimilating your menu of crucial targets. You can use acupuncture charts to find the places where, like a snake, you can deliver a crippling strike. As you begin to appreciate the vulnerable parts of the face, neck, torso, elbows, knees and groin.
• Counterstriking Techniques-Snakes bob, weave, shuffle and bend with agility to avoid being hit. When an opponent strikes, you must practice evading and then moving in quickly and attacking one of the crucial areas you have been studying. You do this with an arsenal of hand forms that are designed to inflict trauma onto relatively small spots. Practice using snake hands, elbow tips, finger fangs and the balls of your feet to target eye sockets, nose bridges, Adam's apples and inner thighs in a barrage of counter strikes. Your sparring partner is essential in this area, as are body pads, hand pads and, most importantly, control.
RED BELT / THREE BLACK STRIPES

As a red belt student acquires more detailed knowledge, just as the plant grows slowly toward the Sun, so the red belt student learns to be more cautious with his knowledge and physical abilities. THREE black stripes reminds me that my physical, mental and skill levels are ever evolving. I must keep pushing the envelope.

MUAY THAI ADVANCED6 MONTHS TRAINING 110 HOURS
Maui Thai • Head - Slightly inclined, with the chin tucked protectively inside the shoulder line.• Eyes - Focused on the area of the opponents' navel or chest in order to assess their body and general movements.• Forearms - Both Used to protect the upper part of the trunk.• Shoulders - Slightly raised for protection.• Elbows - Not too far from the body, and not raised too high: Used to protect the body.• Body - Not stooped or stiff. Positioned sideways on to the opponent, presenting the smallest possible potential target. All vulnerable
points securely protected.• Hands - Rounded into loosely clenched fists, and raised to protect the face.• Lead Fist (Mat Naa) - Less dexterous hand is raised to eyebrow level, the arm extended slightly to the front in the same direction as
the foot.• Rear Fist ( Mat Lang) - More dexterous hand is raised to the level of the cheek, the palm is turned towards the cheek.• Lead Foot (Tao Naa) - Less dexterous foot, left foot if right handed, right foot if left handed - is positioned in front, and toes are
pointed towards the opponent.• Rear Foot (Tao lang) - The most dexterous foot, right foot if right handed, left foot if left handed, is positioned at the rear, with the
toes pointed to the side at an angle of 45?. The following covers basic Muay techniques and terminology. It is intended to supplement, not replace training.
• Do Not plant the feet flat on the ground: - raise the heels slightly, and constantly shift body weight between the balls of the feet, following a natural sense of balance - and the rhythm of the fight music (Dontree Muay) if provided.
• Legs - Both Bent a little at the Knees: Rather than being held completely straight.• Spinning Back Fist – The spinning back first is another punch technique that is not commonly used in Muay Thai. The spinning back
fist generates its power from the momentum of the fighters spinning and generating that torque into the back of their fist.• Superman Punch – The superman punch is a popular technique because it is a tricky fake that can fool opponents. Landing the
overhand will require a fighter to set it up properly to ensure that the opponent falls for the fake when the punch is thrown. If used effectively, this is one of the “coolest” moves you can use.
BLACK BELT
• Black signifies the darkness beyond the Sun. A black belt seeks new, more profound knowledge of the Art. As he begins to teach others, he plants new seeds and helps them grow and mature. His students, many whom will form roots deep into the Art, blossom and grow through the ranks in a never-ending process of self-growth, knowledge, and enlightenment.
