Amendment of paragraph 3(1) of the principal Order.

I N E X E R C I S E of the powers vested in him by regulation 2 7 of the Defence Regulations, 1 9 3 9 , the H i g h Commissioner has ordered and it is hereby ordered as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Defence (Entry and Departure of Persons) (Amendment) Order (No. 3 ) , 1912, .and shall be read as one with the Defence (Entry and Departure of Persons) Order, 1 9 4 2 , hereinafter referred to as the principal Order.

2 . Paragraph 3 ( 1 ) of the principal Order shall be amended by the revocation of paragraph (b) of the proviso thereto and by the

'substitution of the following paragraphs therefor :—

"(6) by any person, not being a Trans : Jordan national, who wishes to proceed to Trans-Jordan and is the holder of a written certificate issued by the Br i t i sh Resident, Amman , certifying that the holder of the certificate—

(i) is in the service of H i s Majesty's Government or any department of H i s Majesty's Forces or the Trans-Jordan Frontier Force or the Government of Trans-Joidan or the G-overnment of Palestine, and is habitually resident in Trans-Jordan, or

(ii) is the wife or minor child of any such person as is mentioned in paragraph (i) hereof; or

(c) by any person, not being a Trans-Jordan national, who wishes to proceed to Trans-Jordan and is the holder of a written certificate issued by the Br i t i sh Resident, A m m a n , certifying that the holder of the certificate—

(i) is in the service of a department of H i s Majesty's Forces or the Expeditionary Forces Institutes or the Trans-Jordan Frontier Force, and that the place of his employment in such service is in Trans-Jordan, and that he is returning to such place of employment from leave, or

(ii) is the wife or minor child of any such person as is mentioned in paragraph (i) hereof."
