    1 2BLCUhasadoptedaflexiblecreditssystem.Undergraduatestudents majoring in Chinese Language are allowed to choose a second degree (or major), e.g. International Economics and Trade, after two years of study. As long as they complete the required credits, they will earn double degrees or a double majors.In addition, BLCU has co-founded “2+3” programs with famous universities of special majors such as Dalian Maritime University (DMU). After two years of study in BLCU majoring in Chinese Language and obtaining an associate’s degree, students could be directly transferred to DMU as a sophomore for a bachelor degree of Maritime Management, Shipping Management, Maritime Law and Cruise and Yacht Management.Studying in a Third Country

    Global BLCU

    Working in China

    BLCU has formed partnership with

    m o r e t h a n 3 0 0 u n i v e r s i t i e s a n d

    educational institutions of over 50

    countries, and has co-established joint

    programs with over 50 universities from

    around 20 countries including US, UK,

    France, Germany, Spain, Australia,

    Netherland, Japan and South Korea.

    This partnership makes it possible for

    the degree students to go to a third

    country to study relevant courses and

    earn transferable credits.

    BLCU organizes various Study Abroad

    programs during summer and winter

    holidays. These programs provide all

    the students with an opportunity to

    s tudy in famous un ivers i t i e s and

    colleges in US, UK, Italy, Japan, South

    Korea, Malaysia, and other countries

    a n d e x p e r i e n c e t h e i r d i v e r s i f i e d

    cultures.

    BLCU has co-founded 16 Confucius

    Institutes around the world, and established

    three overseas Chinese language centres in

    J a p a n , S o u t h K o r e a a n d T h a i l a n d

    respectively. These overseas institutions

    offer not only Chinese language courses to

    local students, but also various kinds of

    scholarships supporting the students to

    come to BLCU for further study.

    Thanks to the close relationship with

    Embassies, MNCs, Confucius Institutes

    and other platforms, BLCU is able to

    offer its students, via its career centre and

    online job information platform, a large

    number of internship opportunities in TV

    stations, publishing houses, exhibition

    companies, language training centres, as

    well as primary and secondary schools.

    BLCU is located in Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, covering an area of 38

    hectares and boasting a quiet and comfortable garden-like environment.

    The university is fully equipped with advanced teaching facilities. All the classrooms

    are air-conditioned and installed with infrared listening systems and multimedia devices.

    Language labs, multi-functional classrooms and simultaneous interpretation classrooms are

    all available for students’ use.

    BLCU has complete leisure and recreation facilities. A thousand-people state of the art

    theater is just put to use in the newly-built comprehensive building. A variety of restaurants

    serve Chinese, Western, Japanese, Korean, South-east Asian, and Muslim (halal) food to

    cater to the needs of diversified students. A range of sports facilities including outdoor

    basketball, football, volleyball and tennis courts and a gymnasium containing an indoor

    swimmingpool,severalbadmintoncourts,ping-pongrooms,bowlingroomsandafitness

    centre can also be found.

    Servicefacilitiessuchasbanks,postoffices,supermarkets,laundrystoresandinternetcenters

    can be found on campus. Getting to and from BLCU is easy with several bus stops (Bus Line

    307, 331, 690, 375, 743, 957) and a subway station (Subway Line 13) nearby. A taxi ride from
