I’m an impractically practical person

with a penchant for pretty stuff and a

Bachelor of Arts (Design)

I’m good for reaching things in high places, cooking delicious vegetarian curries (which no-one in my house will eat), quaffing cheap wine and being an organisational drama queen. You could also say design, identity, packaging, illustration, publications, typography and all that jazz. I’m quite handy with programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign, and currently working with CS5 suite. I’m confident on both PC and Mac systems, and have developed a highly-acclaimed expertise in fixing computers by turning them off and on again.

I like good food, taxidermy insects, coral nail polish, kids movies, ice-cream, sniggering in art galleries, embracing the unusual, partaking in stupid conversations that roll on forever, endless adventures down the beach and road trips to oblivion. But when I’m not off chasing the world you will find me wasting time trawling though design blogs, spending Sunday mornings at the beach, talking nonsense to old people and (badly) serenading people from my car while I’m stuck in traffic.

APAN (Australian Performing Arts Network)

Business Card Design, Facebook Branding, Event Poster DesignThe Australian Performing Arts Network is a network based company offering workshops and opportunities for performing artists in Perth. APAN caters for children at a young age, to older more serious performers and spectators of all ages.

Hamish approached me with the breif to redesign his business cards wanting a fresher, less tacky and modern take of his business. He stressed that he wanted his cards to be a ‘talking point’ when he meets new clients and performers, and also to be sensitive of his female dominated industry.

The cubist style of the cards reflects the reoccuring styles we have used for event posters. It also resembles an ever-changing, crisp, flowing movement of his performers and dancers. To throw in a bit of kick, I also made them into a fun and distracting puzzle, which he tells me is his ‘party trick’ at conferences and meetings. This look also carries onto the Facebook branding.

My work showcases poster designs and branding for for the likes of performer Lucy Durack, Dein Perry of Tap Dogs, and pop dance stars Johnny Ruffo and Justice Crew..

CLIENT: Snugg Events and Artist Management

Logo DesignThe bubble-writing typographic style used for Snugg is reminiscent of ‘70s graph art, fit-ting ‘snug’ into the bubbly, futuristic and bold characteristics of the dance music scene. The tag style is appropriate for the street advertising platforms in which Snugg will infiltrate whilst being curiously recognisable as a ‘unknown’ and underground for the Forward Thinking Party People.

Poster DesignPosters were designed mono for low budget large scale printing for paste-ups and reflect the themes of the chosen parties.
