Organizing Your Pieces

• In the “middle” section of your folder:• Out of the 8 pieces you have created, please place the three you want graded up front with the other pieces following. Extra pieces like writer’s challenges need to be placed behind the 8 pieces.

• I’m going to come around with sticky flags so that you can flag your pieces. I do this to DOUBLE check with you that you want these (3) pieces graded from the others.

• In the front pocket you will place your Quarter One Writer’s Response.

Quarter One Writer’s Response• Step One:• Front side of your paper:• Create an introduction (one to two paragraphs) introducing the

pieces you created and yourself as a writer. • **Ways you can do this would be to talk about what inspired

you, how you were able to write about difficult pieces/topics, and what are your strengths and weaknesses are as a writer.

• Step Two: • Back side of your paper:• Write an explanation (one paragraph) as to why you selected the

three pieces for me to grade out of the eight.• **Ways you can do this would be to elaborate on the topics

further by discussing what inspired you and what mood/tone you were trying to convey in each piece.
