Bee Creek UMC Youth/Family Ski Trip Winter Park, CO March 15-19, 2010
What are you planning on doing over spring break this year? Would you be interested in
joining your church family on a ski trip to Winter Park, Colorado? If so, check out the
information here, and then respond ASAP to David Payne [email protected] or Emily
Smith [email protected]. The church is working through a company that works with
groups for our package - but you don’t have to go through us - you can just meet us there.
This is a great way for you to enjoy a ski trip, get closer to some church friends, and grow
closer to God at the same time. Even if you don’t want to ski - you might enjoy the beautiful
surroundings.
We have to move fast to hold our spots - so we will hold an informational/sign-up meeting on
Sunday, October 18, at 12:15 PM. All spots will be provided on a first-come/first-served
basis. So, you will need to attend this meeting and/or get in touch with David or Emily prior
to that. This trip will be a blast - and you won’t want to miss out, so join us!
Look for details on the next page...

BEE CREEK UMC YOUTH/FAMILY SKI TRIP
BEE CREEK UMC 3000 Bee Creek Road, Spicewood, TX 78669! www.beecreekumc.org
We will be staying at the Iron Horse
Resort at the base of Winter Park Ski
Area. Iron Horse is considered a ski in/ski
out resort. If you would like to visit their
website it is www.ironhorse-resort.com
Our package is for 4 nights lodging and 3
days of skiing. Basic ski rentals are also
provided. Snow Boards and ski-rental
upgrades cost extra. Lessons are also
available, at the cost offered by the
resort.
The package costs are:
Total Package Adult - $470
Total Package Student (13-17 yrs) - $451
Total Pkg. Child (6-12 yrs) - $410
Non Ski Rental Adult - $419
Non Ski Rental Student - $400
Non Skier Package - $264
Our package is set for March 15-19. We
arrive to check-in on Monday, Mar. 15.
We ski the 14-16th, and we leave the
morning of the 19th.
We will be skiing at the Winter Park
Resort in Winter Park, Colorado. If you
would like to go to their website it is
www.skiwinterpark.com
Winter Park is an excellent place for
groups and families. Our ski rentals will
be in the Iron Horse Resort, there are
shuttle buses that run regularly between
the resort and town, and there are other
fun activities besides skiing. There are
also plenty of beginner and intermediate
runs for novice skiers.
It is highly advisable that if you have not
skied before - you need to take a lesson.
Self-taught methods rarely end well.
Even a 1/2 day group lesson will give
confidence and help you enjoy the trip
more.
We will hold Group Times each evening in
a meeting room at the condo. Here we
will touch base, celebrate the day, and
have a time of worship.
Skiing is great (of course I’m biased!), but
it can be a great trip for your family. It
can also be expensive. In addition to the
costs previously given, we will also have
the costs of food and transportation.
Once we know how many people are
going we will be able to have a figure for
that specific cost. Our goal is to raise
money to cover the cost of food and
transportation.
Clothing can also be a challenge
financially. We will try to help that by
having a “share” program. That way
people might be able to borrow from
others clothing that has been out-grown
or not in use.
Our payment dates are:
October 18 - $75 deposit due
November 5 - $100 due
December 5 - $100 due
Mar. 1 - Balance due
WE HOPE YOU CAN JOIN US There are too many details to answer and go into here... so please... join us for the meeting. Even if you
are considering it - or doing your own thing, the information will be helpful to you. Also, if you are going to need to get there early or stay
late - you will need to make your own arrangements.
Projections are for a good snow year - and I know from experience that these trips are fun for all. Come join us!
