DANCECOM is a group of young, talented individuals who have the passion and heart for dance. Founded in

January 2003, the group started performing in various school events and soon afterward participated in several

major dance competitions across the metro. Overtime, they have been blessed with a good number of

achievements and thus being one of those well recognized college dance groups.

After their successful fifth major concert titled, Impluse 5.2 (March 2011) comes the highly anticipated event,

Beat It Up. The event follows the previous concerts concept thus making this their 6th dance concert and at

the same time third open dance competition for the students of Mapua Institute of Technology Intramuros and

Makati campuses. This intends to showcase the groups talent and encourage other students to express their

creative side by moving and grooving to the beat of music.

Beat It Up will be held at the Tanghalang Pasigeo, Pasig City on November 18, 2012(Sunday) at 5:30 in the

afternoon.

It is with eagerness that we invite you to take part in this significant event and valuable venture by being one of

our contestants.

Beat It Up Mechanics:

1. Registration will start October 1, 2012 and end on October 26, 2012.

2. The group should be composed of 6-10 members.

3. The dance piece should be a minimum of 3 minutes and should not exceed 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

4. A clear copy of the piece should be submitted in CD format on or before November 12, 2012, Monday.

5. There is NO REGISTRATION FEE/COMPETITION ENTRY FEE. Instead, all participating teams will be required

to sell 30 tickets (considered sold) for the event. Remittance date is on November 16, 2012, Friday.

6. If the team decides not to continue on with the competition, a fine of PhP 3,000.00 shall be paid upon

backing-out.

7. The teams who plan to back out from the competition should notify us on or before October 26, 2012.

8. Each participant must be a bona fide student of Mapa Institiute of Technology.

9. A photocopy of each participants Certificate of Matriculation and school ID for the current term should be

enclosed in a short brown envelope and must be submitted on the General Assembly on October 29, 2012,

Monday, 1:00 in the afternoon at the Starbucks-Reposo beside Mapa Institiute of Technology - Makati.

10. The criteria for judging are as follows:

Choreography and Composition 30%

Originality 20%

Execution and Synchronization 20%

Props and Costume 15%Over-all Impact 15%

TOTAL 100%

11. Prizes

Champion PhP 10,000.00 and Plaque

1st Runner-Up PhP 5,000 and Plaque

2nd Runner-Up PhP 3,000 and Plaque
