Dear Sir, This is in reference to e-mail dated 27.07.2012 we received from Mr. Nitin Yadav of your structural consultants M/s Civtech Consultants in respect of the subject work. As desired we have computed the bearing capacities of sub-soil strata for open spread strip / isolated (square) footing foundations laid depths 6.00 m & 7.00 m below the existing ground level as per IS:6403-1981, IS:8009 (Part-I)-1976 & IS:1904-1986. The following are the values of bearing capacities thus arrived at from shear failure criteria & settlement failure criteria :- Sl. – 3 – NOTES : (1) Open spread strip / isolated (square) footing foundations analyzed at depths 6.00 m &

7.00 m below the existing ground level have been considered at 1.00 m depth below the lower basement floor level.

(2) For open spread isolated (square) footing foundations analyzed depths 6.00 m & 7.00

m below the existing ground level, the existing soil overburden up to the lower basement floor level to be removed for laying the foundations has already been added to the values of allowable bearing pressure obtained from settlement failure consideration.
