OBERMOSER ARCH-OMO ZT GMBH
The history of Snøhetta started with the
foundation of an architectural and
landscape design studio. Since its
foundation, the bureau's philosophy has
been based on an interdisciplinary
approach to solution development. We
strive to get a better feel for the
environment and become closer to the
people and physical spaces we live in as a
community, whether or not they were
created by nature or people. We treat
every object and its final design equally,
be it a museum, industrial design, deer
observation station, drawing, landscape,
or doll house.

A new step for Maxwan! Starting September 1,
2018, Posad and the Maxwan urban design
agency will move forward together as
PosadMaxwan. Maxwan partner Hiroki
Matsuura is opening a new office with a focus
on urban and landscape design—MADMA
urbanism + landscape.
The studio was founded in 1993 in Rotterdam
by Rients Dijkstra and Rianne Makkink, with
the latter leaving the bureau in 2001. Rients
Dijkstra was born in 1961 in the Hague. He
graduated in architecture and urban design
from Delft University in 1989. After graduating,
he worked for Architekten Cie and the Office
for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA). In 1993,
he was offered to work on a master plan for
the new town of Leidsche Rijn with 30,000
houses near Utrecht. Indeed, this project was
the reason why Dijkstra founded the Maxwan
studio.
