Bead Door Magnets On most kilns, position the magnet above the hinge so the magnet won’t slide down when you close the door. Magnets are provided on your kiln to assist in hold- ing open the bead door. Feel free to use them or not. These are special magnets called rare earth magnets. They are more powerful than standard magnets. Like all magnets, they will loose strength over time with long exposure to heat such as that from a kiln. How- ever, the rare earth magnets will offer a long service life in this environment.
