Left standing among the rubble, stick-ing out like it was meant to be there was a statue of the Virgin Mary.

"Some may blame God and some may blame the hurricane but the only thing standing were, holy things, as you can see this statue is the only thing that survived, I dug in there for things and all I found is a Virgin Mary," Natali whose house burned explained.

The iconic Mother Mary has long time been a symbol of hope for religious and non-religious alike, her presence is certainly felt with Natali.

"Appreciate what you have, listen to the warnings, hug your children and thank God for today and yesterday, and pray for a better tomorrow," she said.

Annual Night of Prayer and Renewal for Spiritual Mothers In 2007, the Congregation for the Clergy invited women to consider making a commitment of prayer and sacrifice for the sanctification of priests. In our diocese many women have made a yearly commitment to pray for a particular priest, semi-narian or discerner through our Spiritual Motherhood program. This includes a com-mitment to prayer and offerings for the priests of our diocese, who greatly need our prayers and spiritual support. If you would be interested in learning more about this commitment, please consider joining us for: An Annual Night of Prayer and Renewal for Spiritual Mothers being held on Wednesday, September 6, from 5:30-9 p.m. at Terra Sancta Retreat Center in Rapid City. The evening includes din-ner, time for prayer and presentations by Fr. Brian Christensen and Shawna Hanson. For information or to register, call the Office of Vocations at 605-716-5214. ext. 233.

Greeters needed: Singles, Couples and Families -If you would be willing to greet your parish family as they enter church and hand out bulletins as they leave the church on weekend Masses please call Beth Lott 280-9289 or Sherri at the church office. You would be on once every few weeks if enough are willing.
