Getting started

On Business Center you can easily manage your existing networkassets including Network Functions on Demand. The primary things you will do through Business Center:

– See an integrated, global view of your Network Inventory including NFoD services

– Submit configuration change requests for your NFoD services*

– Remove software functions on your Universal CPE*

– View order status

– View or create tickets for your assets

– Review Performance & SLA reports

All of these tasks begin from your Network Inventory page.

Accessing your Network Inventory page

From the Business Center dashboard, there are three waysyou can access your Network Inventory page. Use one of the following:

1) On the top menu, click Manage, click Network, and then click View All Inventory.

2) On the Network Map widget, click Inventory.

3) On the Orders widget, click the View All Orders link.

It is often easiest to filter your inventory first so that it shows only AT&T Network Functions on Demand:

1) Make sure the Filters are On.

2) Next to Service, click the + sign.

3) When the screen refreshes, click the box for AT&T Network Functions on Demand.

Alternatively, you could filter by location or search by location alias.

From the dropdown list, choose Create Order.

• Simple changes are changes to your universal customer premise equipment (uCPE) and your virtual network functions.

• Complex changes consist of simple changes plus changes to your AT&T VPN transport service.

To help you make your selection, the screen gives many examples.

1) If you are making a simple change, click that button and enter a description of the change you are requesting in the text box that appears.

2) If you are making a complex change, click that button and do the same.

3) Select the date, time, and time zone when you would like the change to be made.

4) When you are ready, click Save.

5) The next screen summarizes your input. If you need to change it, click the edit icon. Otherwise, click Submit.

Creating a ticket on an asset

Locate the asset of interest as previously described, and click its Actions arrow. Then from the dropdown list, choose Create Ticket.

Disconnecting a virtual network function (2 of 3)

You can disconnect a device entirely or you can disconnect its software components separately.

1. If you want to disconnect the device entirely, click that checkbox.

2. If you want to disconnect a specific software function only, such as the router software, click its checkbox.

3. Select the date, time, and time zone when you would like the change to be made.

4. Click the checkbox to confirm that you want to disconnect the software.

5. Click Validate.

Checking the status of your order

When your order is successfully submitted, a success message appears right away.

In addition, you can view the status of your order any time through the Orders widget on your Business Center dashboard.

1. On the Orders widget, select a status, such as Completed.

2. The Order Status Activity page appears. All Completed orders are listed.

3. To expand or narrow your order activity results, use the filters on the left to select specific status states, services, or dates. In this example, we show only order activity for AT&T Network Functions on Demand.

1) On the Business Center dashboard, locate the BusinessDirect® widget. Click the down arrow for Network Management.

1) From the horizontal navigation bar, choose Service Type. Then choose Network Functions on Demand.

1) Click Network Functions on Demand Service Type. Then choose Reportand Failed Site Report.

2) On the next screen, from the Reporting Period list, choose the month of interest.

3) Click Submit.

4) A pop-up window appears. Choose Open with Microsoft Excel and click OK.

Viewing the VNF Availability Report

1) A spreadsheet appears with the VNF Availability tab selected. VNF stands for virtualized network functions.

Note: The uCPE Host Name appears in the first column, which may help you find the credit on your bill.

2) For each site with an SLA failure, if the claim status is “approved and completed,” the availability percentage is shown, as is the associated credit amount and the currency.

3) The status of the claim is shown along with additional information about the location.

If the claim status is “pending” or “rejected,” the dollar amounts do not appear. If the claim is rejected, the reason is given.

Measurements provided by the tool

COS

– Provides queue performance measurements per COS (class of service).

Interface

– Provides measurements obtained from the customer edge virtual router (vRouter) for three types of interfaces: WANs, LANs, and VLANs.

vRouter

– Provides measurements on CPU and memory usage for the virtual router’s routing processor and its forwarding processor.

IP to IP (Site to Site)

– Provides end-to-end performance at the class of service (COS) level for pre-determined pairs of customer sites.

Adding new users to Business Center

If your Business Center role is Company Administrator, you can add new users and perform related tasks.

1. From the company profile, go to the Users tab.

2. Click Add User and then follow the on-screen instructions. For more details, please see the Quick Guide for Company Administrators.
