Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) provides a Christian alternative to conventional learning system for students from kindergarten through level twelve. Since 1970, it has provided academic breakthroughs through its curriculum founded on Christian values, mastery learning, reasoning skills and technology. A.C.E. schools use the PACEs which are ladderized learning tools for each subject. The system relates basic academic principles to Biblical views on individual relationships, a personal relationship with God, and personal responsibility to others and the community. The system offers a wide variety of classes in basic academic areas like Math, Science, English, Word Building and Social Studies and all other Philippine prescribed and internationally accepted subjects as well. A.C.E has 4 key components. First, the system is individualized. Students work through unit workbooks [PACEs] and advance from level to level at their own pace. Second, it is based on diagnosis of the student's current ability. Diagnostic tests are given and students are placed in the program based on their performance in each individual subject area not based on age or grade level. Third, there is goal setting by the student to measure their progress. The final component is mastery learning. Before moving to the next unit a student must attain the percentage mastery set by the system. The system and its curriculum is tested, proven, accepted, and used through-out the world. Even the University of the Philippines specifically mentions the A.C.E. as one of the distinct group sources of annual applicants in their UPCAT Application Form. “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) ACCELERATED CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

Accelerated Christian Education's program is individualized. It is designed to allow students to work at their own level of achievement, which may vary from subject to subject.

Core Curriculum Provides Basic Educational Needs

The core curriculum includes the six basic academic disciplines that provide students' essential educational needs: math, English, Literature and Creative Writing, social studies, science, and Word Building (spelling). Each core curriculum subject contains 156 PACEs beginning with preschool and ending with level 12. Exceptions are math (which contains 144 PACEs), Word Building (which concludes with level 9), and Literature and Creative Writing (which begins with level two and will conclude with level 8.)

Each curriculum level course consists of 16 PACEs [12 in other countries] PACEs. Normally students complete a minimum of 70 PACEs each in one academic year; however, this varies according to the students' abilities and the school's efficiency. Students normally keep academic balance in the subjects in which they are working and complete about the same number of PACEs in each subject--that is, after they have completed gap PACEs. Students who are more skilled may progress at a faster rate or may accelerate in the areas of their academic strengths. Slower students are encouraged to do their best, but are able to work on their levels of proficiency and proceed as they are capable.

Kindergartens I & II

(Readingn Readiness & ABCs with ACE and Christi)

Kindergartens I and II with Ace and Christi program are two full-year kindergarten programs featuring a complete scope and sequence of concepts and skills needed to prepare children to read. These include the Reading Readiness Class and ABCs with Ace and Christi plus the Coordination Development Tests. Four to five-year-old, or slightly older children should be enrolled to these programs.

Sixty PACEs filled with Bible and animal pictures, coordination development activities, and full-color picture stories encourage a love for reading. A child learns the phonetic sounds for all letters so that when he is ready to learn to read, he will do so. He will also learn social skills and the wonders of God's world through His word.

All core curriculum subjects are covered by PACEs to be utilized by the students. In addition, BCIS-SEC also provides conventional teaching in non-core areas such as Music, Physical Education, Home Economics, Arts, and other areas of learning prescribed by the Department of Education.

SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT BCIS-SEC offers a one-one-one program for children with learning disabilities caused by physical and mental handicaps. Each special child is made to undergo diagnosis and given an INDIVIDULAIZED EDUCATIONAL PRESCRIPTION (IEP) by a Sped specialist to determine specific learning and development requirements of the concerned special child; plan the program for each special child; and implement the required input, training and other special tasks for the development of his/her mental and physical coordination. At a certain relative point, after series of IEPs and implementation of each determined program, a special child is diagnosed to determine if he/she may be ready to enter the learning center for regular students. This process is called MAINSTREAMING – a point when the special child may advance academically using the A.C.E. system as a tool. Program components of the Special Education Department

Early Intervention [preferred] / Individualized Instruction

The IEP is implemented by the SpEd teacher on one-on-one sessions with the special student.

Accelerated ChrisitianEducation Program

The program is ideal for children with retardation, specific learning disabilities, autism, hearing impairments, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, behavioral problems and similar conditions.

Physical and occupational fitness and development

Physical fitness programs are intrinsic elements in the daily instruction of special students for gross and motor development.

BCIS-SEC has been successful in the development of special children with special learning requirements over the years.
