Our North American EditionWe print every North American edition in the States. This helps us to do four important things: to customise the magazine as much as we like; to ensure our American and Canadian readers get their magazine much closer to the UK on-sale date; and to reduce our carbon footprint. It also makes distribution easier and means we can target specific areas in the US more easily.

The North American Edition replaces our UK events with the must see US classical performances that month. If you’d like to see some examples of US features, we’d be delighted to email PDFs.

3 BBC Music Magazine is the biggest-selling classical music magazine in North America with a circulation of 13,087 per issue. It is bought by more classical music enthusiasts than both Listen and Gramaphone.

3 Every issue has a limited number of exclusive advertising pages that only appear in our North American edition. They’re the best way to reach a purely North American audience.

BBC Music Magazine Awards 2014The BBC Music Magazine Awards continue to grow. Now established as the most effective classical-music recording awards in the UK, with recording sales outstripping our nearest magazine competitor, they will this year again be held at Kings Place, London.

The BBC Music Magazine Awards are unique in that the winners are chosen by the public. 21 nominations are chosen by a specially selected jury of critics from the 250 five-star recordings and DVDs of 2013. The final choice rests with the public vote – and these are the only classical awards with so much public voting. 2013 was a truly superb year for new releases and we are immensely proud to support the classical record industry.

Established in 1934, Glyndebourne prides itself on providing exceptional opera for everyone.

Its theatre is heralded as a masterpiece of modernism for its acoustics and sightlines, and in 2012 the Festival was powered for the first time by renewable energy, inaugurating Glyndebourne as an environmental innovator. The Festival (May-August), Tour (October-December), music label, cinema screenings and live operas on www.glyndebourne.com provide the chance to experience the best of Glyndebourne wherever you are.

Cadogan Hall

Set in a fantastic location in the heart of Chelsea, Cadogan Hall has become one of London’s leading concert venues. The

Hall’s 900 seats, state of the art sound and light and luxurious surroundings makes it the first choice for some of the UK’s top orchestras, including the hall’s resident orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic, as well as a favourite London destination for international touring orchestras.

Cadogan Hall has been the chosen venue for the world-famous BBC Proms Chamber Music Series for the past six years – which this year saw appearances from artists such as mezzo-soprano Alice Coote, chamber choir Tenebrae and pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard – and hosts a variety of contemporary music events and a vibrant selection of world music. The hall produces a full brochure of events three times a year and copies are available from the venue’s box office in Sloane Terrace (+44 (0)20 7730 4500) or can be downloaded from the website www.cadoganhall.com.

It is home to Northern Sinfonia, orchestra of The Sage Gateshead, and the Folkworks programme, which provides opportunities to listen to and participate in traditional music and dance. The extensive learning and participation work, including ‘Join in and Sing’ workshops, study days and ukulele classes, enables everyone of every age or ability to become involved in music making.

The Sage Gateshead www.thesagegateshead.org +44 (0)191 443 4661

T he Sage Gateshead is an international home for music and musical discovery, as both a live music venue and a centre

for music education. The building, designed by Foster and Partners, is located on a landmark

waterfront site on the banks of the Tyne and includes two concert halls, a rehearsal space and a music education centre. The local, national and international concert programme runs all year round and incorporates all kinds of music.

St George’s Bristol

V ariously described as ‘an ideal hall’ by Alfred Brendel and ‘a glorious, intimate hall’ by Björk, St George’s

Bristol is one of Britain’s finest concert halls and recording studios, boasting a superb natural acoustic, unique atmosphere, a loyal

and enthusiastic audience, and the world’s best classical music artists.

Housed in a beautiful former Georgian church within its own gardens in the heart of Bristol, its full and vibrant programme, with over 200 events each year, makes it an incredibly popular

and important venue for all kinds of music, from classical to jazz, opera to folk, world music to spoken word and family concerts.

Highlights of the forthcoming programme include an all-Bach concert from violinist Viktoria Mullova on 22 October and Beethoven String Quartets from the Elias Quartet on 7 December, not to mention the Bristol Baroque Festival presented in association with BBC Radio 3 from 25-29 March 2013.
