    The ancient discipline of Tai Chi combines agilesteps, joint safe exercises, andmental strength to improvemobility, breathing, and relax-ation. Its a way for people of all ages to improve physical,emotional, and mental health.

    Tai Chi is practiced slowly which allows for mindful,focused movement.Moving slow is a learned art.This is true for our body as well as our mind. Tai Chiencourages individuals tomove with focus and concen-

    tration. The slow movementsequences challenge balancebecause of the continuous,controlled flow.

    What is it and where does it come from?Quinoa pronounced KEEN-wah is not a grasslike common grains, rather it is of the goosefootfamilythink lambs-quarter, beet, spinach, andtumbleweeds! It is a seed rather than a true grain/cereal, also called a pseudocereal.

    Quinoa originated from the highlands of the Andes, and is the traditional staple food of Incasand Indians of Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Columbia. Itgrows best in high elevations.

    Nutritional profileQuinoa has the highest nutrition profile of allgrains: 16-20% protein. The next highest grainis hard spring wheat at 14%, the stuff that wheatbread is made of.

    It is high in certain essential amino acids typically low in grains making quinoa a complete protein.

    It is relatively high in fat see nutrition facts(brown rice has 2g for the same calories), and isa good source of iron, phosphorus, magnesium,manganese, vitamin E, and B vitamins.

    How toUse Quinoa Unprocessed quinoa

Most hearing aid users report significant ben-efits from the aidsin family relationships, mental health,and other areas that affect thequality of their lives. In all cate-gories, family members observeeven greater benefits from theuse of hearing aids than do theusers themselves.

    Denial is the most importantbarrier to hearing aid use. Mosthearing-impaired persons whodo not use hearing aids think they do not need them or canget by without them. Cost con-siderations and vanity are alsosignificant barriers for many older persons.
