Thermal insulation is a prerequisite for responsible climate protection measures. Façades represent the outer skin of a building and are one of the most important factors in providing a comfortable indoor climate.

Energy saving now: low energy futureThermal insulation is a subject that is becoming increasingly important in these times of climate change and rising energy prices. For example, the thermal renovation of a single family residence can reduce heating costs by up to 60%, as well as substantially cutting CO2 emissions.

In newly constructed buildings it is possible to save on building costs and keep future energy costs to a minimum at the same time. The effects of external wall insulation systems on the quality of life of residents should not be forgotten either. And this is reason enough for Baumit to make a valuable contribution to people and the environment with its new designs and products.

This contribution is already backed up by impressive figures: 20 million square metres of Baumit thermal insulation composite system are installed annually. The resulting energy savings are in the region of 4.5 billion kWh or 450 million litres of heating oil and approximately 1 million tonnes of CO2 per year.

Baumit holds current European Technical Approval (ETA) certificates for the complete system in accordance with the internationally recognised ETAG 004 Guidelines for Technical Approval of External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems with Rendering. Healthy homeThe indoor climate is an oft-forgotten factor when it comes to feelings of comfort and wellbeing. Baumit plasters absorb water vapour and thereby help to regulate humidity levels to ensure a healthy and natural indoor air quality. Our plasters provide greater living comfort as well as simple and effective processing. With a multitude of special plasters coordinated with the substrate, Baumit offers a comprehensive product portfolio.

Baumit interior plaster systems have been specially developed for living areas. Lime and gypsum have been used as building materials since ancient times and Baumit plasters are natural in origin and mineral in composition. They are able to absorb large quantities of water vapour, which is then returned to the ambient air in a controlled manner.

They can thus regulate the humidity and thereby guarantee a healthy and relaxed interior climate. Furthermore, Baumit plasters have the ability to guard against the accumulation of mould, reducing the threat from allergies by improving the air quality in a natural way.

VitonA proven building material for thousands of years, clay has been used by the early civilisations of

Mesopotamia and Egypt and the Pueblo Indians in North America. In Europe, clay has been used since time immemorial for the construction of timber-framed houses. Now our intensive research has delivered Baumit Viton – a ready mixed clay plaster system, ideal for machine application and suitable for both new construction and renovation work. Viton clay plasters offer a sense of wellbeing for your home. Containing natural substances, they are breathable and regulate the humidity in the interior spaces, filtering pollutants from the air. All Viton products are tested according to the Sentinel standard. For individual and creative design options, Viton finishing plasters are available in eight attractive colours – colours that radiate warmth and harmony.
