Field Testing

• The Test Setup can be used to measure Current Drain performance

with Live Networks.

– A menu selection is provided to indicate the Simulator will not be used.

– This enables testing to be carried out on a live network instead of a

simulator.

– Allows comparison of Current Drain performance between different

Network Operators and Lab conditions.

Additional Features

• The Software can be setup to allow manual operation of Power

Analyzer while controlling the Network Simulator. this allows use of

analysis and graphical features offered by different Analysers.

• The Test Suite Scripts are written in XML allowing Teams to

develop in-house tests.

• The Scripting supports

– GPIB commands to the Network Simulator allowing more flexibility for scenario

development with latest features offered by R&S.

– Allows commands to be sent to other equipment connected on the GPIB/VISA

bus for additional environment conditions (e.g. Bluetooth and WLAN).

GSMA TS.09 – Result Macro

• Launch the macro by clicking on the Start button.

• A file open dialog appears, titled ‘Select GSMA Template’

• Select the template and click Open.

• The GSMA Template file is opened

• A new Worksheet named ‘Imported Sample Files’ is added to the template. (If a Result Archive

sheet is found it will assume an already populated file and offer to add selected results to the current ones or exit. If it additionally finds an Imported Sample Files sheet it will exit the macro . This sheet is deleted at the end of a successful macro run and would not be expected on opening a template.)

• A file open dialog appears titled ‘Select Current Sample Files’

• Navigate to, and select the folder containing the result files. Click on any result file

AT&T 10776

• The R&S/Analytek solution is on the Approved Platform list of

AT&T’s 10776 specification.

• The CMW500 based solution is Platform ID 225

• The CMU200 based solution is Platform ID 135

• Note: Both Platforms are validated to use the R&S NGMO2+B5

and the Keysight N6705B+N6781A/N6785A (see CTIA notes)

• The AT&T 10776 release is confidential and only available to

AT&T approved vendors.

• The Tests are Outlined in 10776 Excel Spreadsheet from AT&T.

• Results are stored based on the IMEI of the DUT.

• A Macro is provided as part of the delivery to import the generated

results into the AT&T supplied spreadsheets.

CTIA Test Plan

• AT&T setup the CTIA Battery ad-hoc group in an attempt to

standardise Battery Life Testing for US Operators.

• Analytek were invited to attend and are the only company

involved in T&M that have attended every meeting from startup

over 6 years ago.

• The Test Plan was released on 22/04/2016 and is available on

the CTIA website.

• The Analytek/R&S solution was validated September 2016 and

is the only Approved Platform.

• There are 2 basic Testing Areas in this Test Plan:

– Standard Discharge Profile (SDP): Measurement of available energy in

live battery fitted to DUT

– Energy Use per Activity: Measurement of Current Drawn using Dummy

CDMA Testing

CDMA CCF Ref document 89 is available containing:

• Standby Time

• Talk Time

• These tests are supported on CMU200 or CMW500.

• On request, we have also developed a Test Suite package based on

the tests of GSMA TS.09

TDSCDMA Testing

• On request from a Chinese Network Operator, we have also developed

and delivered a Test Suite package based on the tests of GSMA TS.09.

Current Developments

• GSMA TS.09

– Actively involved with the GSMA discussing new tests covering RCS,

IR94 and other areas requiring IMS along with new DASH Streaming.

• CTIA Battery ad-hoc group (USA)

– Actively involved in specifying standardised Battery Life testing in USA.

Software already with many Labs and OEMs.

• Automation

– Generic Support implemented in all Test Suites. This allows customers

to implement their own automation.

– Example DUT Control option available for Android Devices.

– Support for R&S Automation Manager included.

• LTE-TDD

– Support for LTE-TDD available using GSMA TS.09 Test Suite.

Software Requirements

• One Framework License is required on a per PC basis.

• Test Suite(s) are added to the Framework as required.

• New customer should purchase one Test Suite Bundle (TSB) as

it contains a Framework and a Test Suite.

• Additional Test Suite(s) can be added.

• Existing customers need only purchase Test Suite(s) as they

already have a Framework license on the PC.

• Software Updates to both Framework and Test Suite(s) are

delivered automatically to all customers on the Distribution List.

The customer must supply at least one email address to receive

updates.

Warranty and Maintenance

• Warranty Support

– Provided free-of-charge up to 2 years after the software is

registered with Analytek.

– Includes Bug fixes that are as a result of Analytek implementation.

– Includes software updates to support R&S firmware changes.

• Maintenance Support

– Provided free-of-charge for the first 1 year after the software is

registered with Analytek.

– Customers purchasing Maintenance Support will receive all (minor)

Test Suite updates as a result of (minor) changes to the Test

Specifications.

– Also includes additional features not deemed an option (eg

CMU200 and/or CMW500 support for GSM/WCDMA/LTE).

• Does not cover specific areas where the feature or fix can only

be implemented by R&S and is unavailable from them.
