Battery Day NRW and Advanced Battery Power Conference: 25-27 April 2016 in MünsterIn 2016, Battery Day NRW and the Advanced Battery Power Conference for scientists, developers and engineers are being held for the seventh and eighth times respectively. The venue is the Halle Münsterland Exhibition and Congress Centre.

Conducted in German, Battery Day NRW is a showcase of the companies and institutions from Nordrhein Westfalen that are active in the battery technology and applications market. The event is organised jointly by the EnergyResearch.NRW, EnergyRegion.NRW and NanoMicroMaterials+Photonic clusters. The current focus is on the optimisation of the performance, duration and safety of lithium ion batteries for use in electric vehicles. This requires the cooperation of all those working in the fields of energy, automobile and materials research.

Patron of Battery Day NRW 2016 is once again Svenja Schulze, Minister of Innovation, Science and Research of the State of Nordrhein-Westfalen.

The two-day Advanced Battery Power Conference (conducted in English) is organised by Haus der Technik jointly with two battery research institutes – ISEA ( Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives, RWTH Aachen University) and MEET (Münster Electrochemical Energy Technology, University of Münster) – and is one of today‘s leading battery technology events. The significance goes well beyond the topic of automobile use and makes the Advanced Battery Power Conference a vital event for all engineers, researchers and developers involved with energy storage in general, new materials, network integration and battery recycling.

A steadily growing specialist exhibition is an important component of the Battery Conference 2016 in Münster.

We look forward to seeing you at this outstanding event.

Battery Conference 2015: A brief review

In 2015, Battery Day NRW and the Advanced Battery Power Conference together attracted over 650 trade visitors. Over 200 abstracts were received in 2015 for the Advanced Battery Power Conference in response to the call for papers. Participants came from the automotive industry, from suppliers and power generators, from research institutes and universities as well as from politics, industry associations and banks.

The international conference and the seminars and tutorials once again underlined the major importance of this technology-oriented event for all decision makers in the field of battery technology in Germany, Europe and – increasingly – worldwide.

The great interest in the Battery Conference 2015 points to a continuation of this story of success again this year.

Year on year – a growing platform for your success

We expect Battery Day NRW and the Advanced Battery Power Conference to be extremely popular events again in 2016. An important contributory factor here is the Scientific Advisory Board, which includes numerous international scientists and important practitioners.

In addition to lectures from leading scientists and representatives from the fields of industry, SMEs and politics, the wide-ranging poster exhibition with the very latest project ideas and research results is once more a highlight of the conference.

The exhibition in the foyer is a further focal point for knowledge exchange and for cultivating and developing new business connections.

Concentrated know-how from research and development

As in previous years, scientists, developers and engineers along the entire battery value creation train are expected in Münster in 2016. The latest first-hand information and cross-industry knowledge around all aspects of battery development and applications form the basis for the attraction of the Advanced Battery Power Conference and the preceding Battery Day NRW. Away from the lectures there will be plenty of space for the poster exhibition and time for conversations between participants.
