Principal’s Message

Welcome back to another term.

Term 4 has many important dates already locked in, commencing with the HSC

exams. Our outgoing HSC students were the last group remaining from the

‘College Model’ and have already completed some of their final exams in 2015, so we do not have,

as many exams being undertaken this year. We wish the seniors all the best.

As mentioned, this term commences with the removal of the ‘College Model’ from our Batlow

Technology School structures. Our school has successfully transitioned to a traditional model with

the senior years comprising of a Preliminary year (Year 11) and the final HSC year which is Year

12. Students commencing their Year 12 will sit all their exams in 2017.

As Year 11 have completed their Preliminary Course, they will receive their reports later in the

week.

To keep abreast of all the important term dates, we have provided a term calendar in this issue of

“Scoop”.

Jack Gould has continued on his impressive sporting journey having been placed second in the

state All Schools Athletics Championships. Jack will now advance to the Australian All-Schools

National Championships and will compete in the 800 m event. Congratulations Jack!

At our whole school assembly last Wednesday, we were able to announce the 2017 Batlow

Technology School Student Leadership Team.

Our school will be led by;

Captains

Taylah Bowman

Hannah Collins

Vice Captains

Amy Glynn

Tessa Cross

I am delighted with the knowledge that these ladies will be the senior school representatives and

look forward to working with them to further provide a school that all students can be proud to be

associated.

At the assembly, students were entertained by Chloe-Kate Begg performing a solo vocal with the

Mike Oldfield song, ‘Moonlight Shadow’. The Primary Choir show-cased their vocal number which

they also presented at the Apple Blossom Festival.

All secondary students were provided with excursion forms to participate in the “Happiness Cycle”

event. Money for this two-day excursion to Sydney is required by Thursday 20 October 2016

(this week) so accommodation and ‘Aladdin’ theatre tickets can be finalised.

Have a great week!

Have a great term!

Mr Hodges
