To Stamp A Diagonal Basketweave Design:
TIP: To stamp partial impressions up against a border or edge, tilt stamp and strike mallet firmly or lightly for varied impressions.

1) Outline space with either a scribed line using a stylus (shown above) or cut a line using a swivel knife (shown on buckle. If cut line, use a beveler on inside for depth.)
2) Scribe a light guideline diagonally through center.
3) Stamp #1 impression on top of guideline.
4) Stamp #2 & #3 below guideline overlapping edges of #1 impression.
5) Continue stamping.

7) Add decorative border with border stamps.
Follow same steps as above except scribe guidelines straight rather than diagonally.

You Will Need: Buckle Set-Up For Leather Insert, Veg-Tan Leather Insert, Tools For Design, Mallet, Bowl Of Water, Sponge, Poly Board, Slicker Or Piece Of Canvas, Leathercraft Cement.
To Complete Your Buckle: While leather is still cased (damp), rub edges with a slicker or piece of canvas until smooth. Let dry then add (optional) color using leather dyes, permanent markers or acrylic paints. Let dry, then add a protective leather finish. When dry, glue leather insert into place on buckle using Leathercraft Cement. Let dry.
