Pastor’s Corner My Dear Friends, This weekend, Catholic Christians celebrate the Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion. This day honors Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey, while the people praised him saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David; blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; hosanna in the highest.” We then hear the Passion of Jesus according to Matthew. Palm Sunday is the beginning of Holy Week, the most special of all weeks for Catholic Christians. This week, we’ll celebrate Chrism Mass at our new Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral on Tuesday. On Holy Thursday, we’ll celebrate the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, which celebrates the beginning of the ordained priesthood as well as the Eucharist (Mass), and the servant-leadership model that Jesus called his apostles to follow. For Catholic Christians, Lent officially ends at the beginning of that Mass. On Good Friday, we’ll venerate the cross, hear the Passion, and receive Communion. And, we will have a live Vía Crucis - Way of the Cross – sponsored by the young people of some of our Hispanic ministries. If you haven’t experienced that yet, please try to attend this amazing production beginning at 4:00 pm. Sincerely yours in Christ, - Father Bob
