Basics to Using the D7000 for VIDEO Reset the Camera each time you sign it out Format the SD card Camera Setup for video Menu Settings: IMAGE QUALITY: •menu>Shooting Menu>Movie Settings>Movie quality>1920x1080 24fps high qual CONTROLS: •Set Manual movie settings to ON •Shoot on manual exposure so the exposure doesn’t fluctuate within a shot. •DON’T use auto white balance - your colors will fluctuate •FOCUS before you start the video - IF you autofocus while shooting, your camera will record the noise of the autofocus motor. •SHUTTER Speed - shoot video at 1/60 of a second •Use a TRIPOD *Note: You cannot adjust aperture in live view mode or during recording. In aperture priority mode, the screen will change if you change aperture, but does not actually stop down. In manual mode, the aperture value is completely fixed. TO CHANGE APERTURE YOU MUST EXIT LIVE VIEW AUDIO: •Set Microphone to A (the auto setting is the safest for beginners) USE the Sennheiser MKE400 external mic available at MediaTech ** MAKE SURE IT IS PLUGGED IN COMPLETELY OR YOU WILL HAVE NO AUDIO To Shoot Video Turn on Live View - the Lv button next to the screen Press the redbutton to start and stop video recording H Cheat Sheet for VIDEO College of Communications 4/11
