Step1:WhatisQS‐9000?

1.  QS‐9000,whichisworldlyacceptedandapplied,isacertificationstandardformotorindustry,whichwasdevelopedbyUSAthethreegiantmotormakers(GM,Ford,Chryslerandtheirwagonproducers).

2.  Issuedin1994.3.  Previously,eachcompanydevelopedtheir

ownexpectationsforsupplierqualitysystemsandthecorrespondingassessmentdocuments.

3.  QS‐9000replacessuchqualitysystemrequirementsasFordQ‐101,Chrysler'sSupplierQualityAssuranceManual,GM'sNAOTargetsforExcellenceandtheTruckManufacturer'squalitysystemmanuals.

4.  ProofofconformancetoQS‐9000iscertification/registrationbyanaccreditedthirdpartysuchasUnderwriter'sLaboratories(UL)ortheAmericanBureauofShipping(ABS).

5.  CompaniesthatbecomeregisteredunderQS‐9000willbeconsideredtohavehigherstandardsandbetterqualityproducts
