    BASIC SHIPPING CHARGES

    BAS Basic Freight: This is the charge for handling the transportation of your cargo from the firstport of loading to the final port of discharge.

    BAF Bunker Adjustment Factor: An adjustment in shipping charges to offset price fluctuationsin the cost of bunker fuel encountered in world bunker prices.

    CAF Currency Adjustment Factor: This is a cost sharing item to account for currency fluctuations

    encountered when incurring operational costs in one currency and paying in a different currency.EXP The charges associated with the administration of providing export services, such as, butnot limited to, equipment release, arrangement of pick-up and drop-off and handling of notifications.

    ODF The charge associated with the creation of transport documents processed at origin.

    OHC Origin Terminal Handling Charge: Covers the cost of cranes to load your container ontothe vessel as well as other activities of the port.

    DHC Destination Terminal Handling Charge: Covers the cost of cranes to discharge your containeras well as other activities of the port.

    MDF Manual Documentation Fee: When booking requests are submitted via a non e-channel afee is applied for processing documentation which is submitted manually.

    WDF Weight Discrepancy Fee: Payable when there is a discrepancy between container gate-in

    weight and weight declared on documentation.

    EMF Equipment Management Fee: Ensures high security seal on container as well as providingan EIR report to a trucker

    LDS Late Documentation Surcharge: The fee will apply if shippers have delivered a containerto the export port for shipment but do not comply with Safmarines documentation deadlines.

    MHH Merchant Haulage Cargo Release: Charge related to coordinate haulage with a third partylogistics provider.

    PAE Port Additionals (Export) / Port Dues Miscellaneous charges collected for the port onbehalf of the customer at origin.

    PAI Port Additionals (Import) / Port Dues - Miscellaneous charges collected for the port on behalfof the customer at destination.

    SER Carrier Security Charge: Charges associated with the Carrier compliance to the ISPS codeon vessel and container security measures. Applicable on all cargo on a container basis.

    IHE Inland Haulage Fee (exports): export intermodal transportation is arranged by the carrier.

    IHI Inland haulage fee (imports) import intermodal transportation arranged by the carrier.

    CCL Container Cleaning Fee: Safmarine will provide its customer extra cleaning of containersuitable for safe transportation of relevant cargo / commodity type as per customer request.

    DDF Documentation Fee Destination. The cost associated with the creation and processing ofdocumentation at destination.

    WTI Inland Haulage Waiting Time - The charges associated with truck waiting time caused bygeneral congestion or customer influenced delays.

    IMP The charges associated with the administration of providing import services, such as, butnot limited to, equipment release, the arrangement of pick-up and drop-off and handling notifications.

    ADDITIONAL CHARGES FOR REEFER ONLY

    PTI Pre trip Inspection. Reefer containers require inspection, testing and configuration of set pointsof various machinery to cater to specific cargo booked by customer. This charge covers cost oftechnician for pre trip inspection. This is a South African requirement only (as per the request of thePerishable Products Export Control Board.

    CTS Cold Treatment Surcharge. A fee for the maintenance of a sufficiently low reefer temperaturefor a predetermined length of time. The temperature for the commodity is monitored and maintainedfor the specified time defined by import regulations.

    CAS- Controlled Atmosphere Surcharge. A fee for providing a special atmosphere controlledrefrigerated container during transportation. The mixture of gases are regulated within the containerthroughout the ocean transportation. the special atmosphere controls the speed at which fruit ripens.
