What is Cloud Computing?Cloud computing is a general term for anything that involves delivering hosted services over the internet.
Cloud computing is Internet-based computing, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices on demand, Like the electricity grid. (An electrical grid is an interconnected network for delivering electricity from suppliers to consumers.)
Key to the definition of cloud computing is the clouditself. Here , the cloud is a large group of interconnected computers.==>>
Superior software methodologies
Powerful multi-core processors General purpose graphic processors
Proliferation of devicesVirtualization leveraging the powerful hardware
Wider bandwidth for communication

Significant milestones1999 Salesforce.com developed the concept of delivering enterprise applications via a simple website that helps the software firms to deliver applications over the internet. 2002 Amazon Web Services provided a suite of cloud-based services. 2006 Amazon launched its Elastic Compute cloud (EC2) as a commercial web service that allows small companies and individuals to rent computers on which to run their own computer applications

Understanding Cloud Architecture :
Logical diagram
1.Client 2.Service 3.Application 4.Platform 5.Storage 6.Infrastructure
CLIENT A cloud client consists of computer hardware and/or
computer software which relies on the cloud for application delivery.
SERVICE A cloud services such as web service is software system
designed to support interoperable machine to machine interaction over a network.
APPLICATION A cloud application purchases the cloud in software
architecture often eliminating the need to install and run the application on the customers own computer.
PLATFORM A cloud platform such as a service as a services, the
delivery of a computing platform and for solution stack as a service facilitates deployment of application.
STORAGE Cloud storage involves the delivery of data storage as a
services as a service including data base like services, often billed on a utility computing basis, eg-per giga byte per month.
INFRASTRUCTURE cloud infrastructure such as infrastructure as a service
is the delivery of infrastructure typically a platform virtualization environment as a service.
1.PUBLIC CLOUD 2.HYBRID CLOUD 3.PRIVATE CLOUD.
PUBLIC CLOUDPublic cloud is cloud infrastructure operated solely for a single organization, whether managed internally or by a third-party . Undertaking a private cloud project requires a significant level and degree of engagement to virtualize the business environment, and it will require the organization to re-evaluate decisions about existing resources.
PRIVATE CLOUD Private cloud are also known as internal cloud that
operate on private networks. Private cloud is cloud infrastructure operated solely for a single organization, whether managed internally or by a third-party and hosted internally or externally. They have been criticised on the basis that users "still have to buy, build, and manage them
HYBRID CLOUD Hybrid cloud is a composition of two or more clouds
(private or public) Hybrid cloud provides the flexibility of in house applications with the fault tolerance and scalability of cloud based services
1. CLOUD COMPUTING PROVIDERS 2. USER 3. VENDOR
CLOUD COMPUTING PROVIDERS A cloud computing provider or cloud computing service provider owns and operates live cloud computing systems to deliver service to third parties
USER A user is a consumer of cloud computing . The privacy of users in cloud computing has become of increasing concern . The rights of users are also an issue, which is being addressed via a community effort to create a bill of rights
VENDOR A vendor sells products and services that facilitate the delivery, adoption and use of cloud computing. .
Understanding Cloud Services: Any web-based application or service offered via cloud computing is calleda cloud
service.Browser accesses the cloud service
location independence Centralization of infrastructure Virtualization Powerful Performance Reliability Intelligent Scalability and elasticity Security
Advantages of Cloud Computing : Cost savings
Very high Scalability Increased Data Safety
High Computing power Location independence
Reduced Hardware equipment for end users In the event of a disaster data is usually not lost
Drawbacks of Cloud Computing: Internet connection Low-Speed Connections
Cost Security Knowledge
Conclusion :Cloud Computing is the fastest growing part of IT
Tremendous benefits to customers of all sizesKey opportunity for application and infrastructure vendors Public clouds work great for some but not all applications
Private clouds offer many benefits for internal applicationsPublic and private clouds can be used in combination Economic environment is accelerating adoption of cloud solutions
