Computer box is also known as COMPUTER CHASSIS.
It comes in 3 kinds:
1. Desktop – lays horizontally on top of the desk, and the monitor is placed on top.
2. Tower – lays vertically on top of a desk and the monitor stand by the side.
3. Laptop – uses a special kind of computer chassis that allows the computer to be carried in a small bag and can be placed on one’s lap. The monitor is hinged with the main body of the case and serves as a cover of a built-in keyboard.

Inside the Computer
When you first open up a computer it can look pretty messy and daunting to figure out. There are so many bits are pieces of a computer that it makes it very hard to figure out what each piece just does.

Motherboard
The primary purpose of the motherboard is to allow other components to communicate to each other. It houses all the components and turns it into one "unit"

CPU
The CPU is the brain and heart of the computer. It controls and manipulates data to produce the required information.

Video card
The Video card allows you to see. The monitor is plugged into the video card so the video card will be able to produce a image that will be displayed on the screen.

CD-ROM
A CD-ROM is a drive which allows you to read CDs. It can read data CDs and it can also play music CDs. A data CD holds around 650 Megabytes of information. The Read-Only-Memory means that a CD cannot be written to or erased.

Sound Card A sound card allows you to hear the enhanced sounds and music. It makes the sound coming out of your computer nicer. Most computers come with a PC speaker. This speaker only does BEEP noises. When a sound card is added you are able to hear enhanced sounds, speech and music. A sound card must be plugged into speakers or a head phones.
