Summary of Principles

Work force redefinedPool more heterogeneousMore workers, less employees

21th century work space: work follows the workerCollaboration and self-regulationWork spaces are user-centric

Work and workers are central, buildings are notSatellite Offices are (therefore) obsolete as is (tele)commuting

New resource optimization for employing organizations

Connected and Sustainable Work Perspective

“Connected and Sustainable Work renders (tele)commuting obsolete…

…by redefining where works get done by who and how”

CUD Smart Work Center

Close to residential community, bringing together all relevant services and facilities as to:

Optimize ‘a day in the life of’ a worker

Bring information to the user, not the user to the information

Taking physical transport out of the equation of work insofar information exchange is concerned

Business Model SWC

Leases per squared meter +

possible commission fees

Providing comprehensive flexible work space propositions to larger employers. Flexible work stations can be retained at any time by any employee

The proposition includes the actual work space, connectivity, IPphones, on the premise telepresence access, other hardware

Further services on the premises are provided by third parties and can be retained separately (i.e. child day care, restaurant)

Business Model SWC (2)

Leases per squared meter +

possible commission fees

One year agreements with large employers are imperative to the short term viability of the SWC. Larger Employers therefore serve as ‘launching customers’. Individual ‘per day’ or ‘per hour’ arrangements follow in secondary phase of SWC development

Financial advantages to the larger SWC customers emerge if the customer translates SWC usage into a reduction of fixed work stations at their own premises. A SWC aims to offer all-inclusive work stations at 50 to 90% of the costs involved in maintaining fixedtraditional workspaces, allowing for substantial reductions in operational cost to the customer
